Just watched most of the last half of Portugal-Spain. Ended up 3-3 on a last-minute Portugal kick following a stupid Spanish penalty just outside the box. Good game, Spain should have won. The tie for Portugal was just about as good as a win.

Yea, i stick with football mostly but come on, its the World freaking Cup. It is THE biggest sport tourney in the known universe. By watching it you are sharing an experience with 2 billion other people.

I am rooting for Croatia, so it was a good day for me! I am hoping they kick the crap out of France on Sunday. Tired of this PC "You must love 'Multi-Culti' or else" BS in Europe, so nothing would please me more, than to see underdog, homogenous Croatia win, especially against a ****hole like France.

TOTAL FRECH MALE POP- 32million. Of these, there are 1.7 million registered male futbol players in France. TOTAL Croatian male population ~1.7 million. Huge difference in available players, let alone the imports.

I hope the ref who reffed the Croatia game refs the final. He allowed so much contact that by the second half the players understood and didn't flop unless they were really injured. It was so much more fun watching people getting knocked then immediately getting back up to play rather then stop play everytime.

Yeah it was fun to watch everyone playing hard and playing until the whistle was blown. Hopefully FIFA as a whole transitions this way too.

It was a great game, but for me, when:

Pickford levelled Mandzukic and proceeded to talk smack to him (supposedly said "Get up you f-ing tw*t" or something to that effect), and then Mandzukic comes back a few minutes later with the game winning goal was one of the best sports moments I've ever seen. Talk about the ultimate revenge (and Pickford briefly looked like he was ready to cry after the game).

Modric was absolutely right in what he said after the game...the "experts", the writers, the English players ALL thought it was going to be a cake-walk, especially after Trippier's free kick goal (which was beautiful, too).

They underestimate the Croats, even though they've got some great players, and a lot of endurance. They don't really seem to come alive until the 2nd half, so maybe that's giving off a false sense of security to the opposition.

Either way, Sunday's going to be interesting.

It's a legitimate strategy in soccer to start flailing about whe you are ahead. The refs never add enough injury time that was wasted on the pitch. The own goal, the handball that led to a PK, and the sloppy goal Lloris gave up were disappointing but that goal by Pogba was amazing

I played it in high school and college. Know the game. Good goal but Pogba pushes the limits on contact, etc. I had the opportunity to play in both Spain and France, and his is typical French play on tackles, kind of shady on the man vs. ball thing.
