My veteran charity of choice is
Special Operations Warrior Foundation. They've got a great rating from charity navigator and do good work.
I think the reason this issue keeps coming up is that not everyone is sufficiently informed, and the WWP continues to be prominent despite it's anti-gun stances and lousy use of money. I honestly think a thread like this should be stickied so that people are constantly reminded that just because an organization is a "non-profit", it doesn't mean that they're actually charitable and upstanding.
