WTF? Officer in GA charged with murder and faces death penalty..

It's called appeasing the mob, and arguably, is an even greater injustice than what the LE officer was accused of.

Think about it, what's the bigger disgrace? An LE officer allegedly using excessive force, or charging them with a crime you know you'll never convict on to appease a group of rioters?

Fuck the mob. If mob rules then that’s the final nail in the republic!

The cops are walking off the job and refusing to answer the radio.

A good attorney, will beat that charge. The subject had a deadly weapon in his hand and was a danger to the public. Officer was within his duty. NOW....the situation of not administering medical attention after the shoot, welll, that could be a problem. Mac🤔

I'd say the police in Atlanta are right to refuse to do anything for anyone until this injustice is resolved.
The murder charges are a slap on both sides of the face to all police everywhere.

Let's see how long the politicians feel "safe" with the mob when they don't have the "just following orders" to be their private guard and foot soldiers to carry out their edicts.

Maybe the police can use this time to think about who their friends might actually be.

That’s a shame all around!

Or, maybe it's time people realize there aren't so many "just following orders" out there.

I would love to believe that and there is a good chance you are correct, but you will be hard pressed to show any evidence of that being the case on the news, or what gets reported of enforcement or cases etc. Just the opposite viewpoint can be pulled up in huge amounts on any "news" site.

I think perhaps you need to take some time to talk with those outside your circle in the wider group of freedom loving 1A and 2A cherishing patriots and ask what they see on the news, what they see in action, what they see in the courts, what they see in enforcement and such and how that makes them feel.

I can tell you from the past 3 months and the past 3 weeks what I've seen & the deep concerns I've had if you are interested.

I hear you, and I don't disagree that one could come to the conclusions you have by watching/listening to the news. I just think it odd that, by and large, "we" all consider the news to be fabricated, inciteful, politically motivated bullshit, and yet some still form strong opinions based on the reporting.

Tell Us. The media is portraying LE in a bad light, plain and simple. For what reason, I’m not totally sure. I know lots of LE and they are all good people. Been pulled over tons of times in the past and to be honest I’ve only had 2 bad instances, if I can even call them that. Most of the guys I’ve run into seem to be upstanding guys. They don’t have an easy job. And the last time I was pulled over, I didn’t have to stop but it was a trooper, it was late, I drove a fancy car and likely looked suspicious at 3am. He pulled me over, I stopped, I didn’t freak out lol, he seen my IDs but then asked about my trash bag in the back. Asked me what was in the bag, I told him my laundry as I was in town and staying with my girl at the time. He asked if he could please look anyways. I didn’t care, didn’t have anything to hide. He looked, got to admit it probably looked a bit weird. Then he found out I was being straight up, we shot the shit, had a good convo but then he got a call. Cool guy, young guy. I told him to watch himself and thanked him for what he does before he drove off.

Im sure there are bad ones out there but I still believe the vast majority of them are great guys, doing a really hard job. I think if you treat them with respect then they treat you with respect and so on. You get what I’m saying. Let’s look at it another way, friend of mine is in the media, was getting all pissy about the media being portrayed as fake news and liars. I responded with, sucks being blamed as a whole for one bad apple doesn’t it? He asked what I was referring to, I said everytime some wack job does something with a gun, the entire group gets a bad name and blamed. Same goes for cops, or media or a number of other things. Just nice to have the tables turned on the media a bit.

Didn’t you know? The news is all fabricated...unless a reported story supports a bias or belief we already hold to be true.

I live in Atlanta. The District Attorney, Paul Howard, is fighting for his political career. As posted above, he is being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for essentially stealing city money by funneling it into his nonprofit to supplement his salary. Earlier this year, he was sued by a records clerk that he fired, alleging that it was because she ended their affair. He is now in a run-off with another democratic contender who has been critical of his handling of these politically-motivated cases. It's clear that he just wants to get on TV and pander for votes. I am praying that he is defeated and his replacement withdraws the charges.

14 years local leo in one of these inner city utopias.

I’m going to be looking for a new job. I just don’t know what I want to do yet and “inner city tac guy” doesn’t exactly shine on the resume 🤷‍♂️
Try a few defense contractors or aerospace. They are always looking for folks that can develop security plans and stuff.

You could become an Operating Engineer and do just fine.
I quit our SO in 1987 and never looked back, it was about the money back then.

My reading of the linked article suggests his replacement would double down on social media influenced indictments? It doesn't paint him in a good light admittedly but I struggle to accept much from conventional media at face value these days.

EDIT:. You're right guys a piece of shit... Just lost track of my pieces of shit lately god what a fuck show.

From what I just saw on Tucker Carlson's show it looked like a legit shoot to me. The deceased made some REALLY bad decisions. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Supposedly this guy was out of jail also because of covid 19 because he had beat his kids. I will try to find the article later.

Here is his rap sheet from the Georgia Department of Corrections. It doesn't show any recent incarceration, but I can't vouch for its accuracy.

A non-profit LEO organization has set up a fundraiser to help the officer charged with murder. I just donated.

I just can't see this travesty unfold anymore. The GBI isn't even done their investigation yet and they were shocked and hadn't been told of these charges .

Donut operator has a YouTube channel. He is a retired LEO cool as fuck. Does a lot of breaking down of police shoots on his channel. He's funny as hell also.

You have a great point.
I don't really know what to do about that part, because you are right, I'm forming a big part of my opinion based on the slanted propaganda that passes for "news", and all the "news" shows is generally the police putting the boots to the freedom loving types and letting criminals get away with riots/crimes/mayhem.

The problem is I'm not really sure where I could get a clear picture of how it really is?

Do you have any alternative sources of information you could suggest that would present how things actually are?

Going further down the whole conspiracy theory thing, I think those pushing for the implosion of our current civilization have actually done an excellent job of driving a big wedge between the freedom loving rights loving patriot types and the ones in Law Enforcement.
I'm pretty sure it's being done for a reason, but it's hard to deny they have been really effective in sowing mutual distrust.
I'm not sure how to fix it, but it might be something worth thinking about before we get further down the path of civil unrest.

There was several including at least 1 or more gofund me.
So is that the actual legit one that is actually verified to be getting the funds to the officers for their defense?

I wanted to donate to one, but wanted to make sure it was a legit one.

I learned about the fundraiser I posted from a local news article that had a link to it.

https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/ne...hard-brooks-death/27VXPEOPAJBIHCYXUQUM2VNUL4/

Between that reference and the .org website, that was enough for me. I suppose that there could be multiple fundraisers going on simultaneously.

W54/XM-388,

Sorry to take so long getting back to you. Been on the range...

You also ask a great question....Where to get the real scoop?

Short answer... I don't know. I don't watch the news. CNN is shit and I don't think FOX is any better, really. I'm on the inside of some of the things I see being reported there, and discussed here on the Hide and, except for names and dates, most of it is inaccurate. I've been at this a little over nine years and have come to take everything with a level of doubt (maybe even suspicion and distrust) if I don't see it unfold before my own eyes. So, it would be hypocritical for me to tell you you're wrong for not believing me when I say there are very few "just following orders" types or that most LEO are, in fact, a lot like you... liberty and freedom loving Patriots. But, that's what I'm going to do and say. You've got it wrong, I think, but if you've never been in law enforcement and/or don't know a few LEO's, I understand why.

So, here we are. You have your doubts and I'd like to change your mind. But, why would you listen to me, I'm just letters on a screen.

Believing one shouldn't point out problems without offering some type of solution, I'll suggest this. Maybe see about doing a ride-along somewhere/sometime. Experience is the best teacher...go scoot around with a Sheriff's Deputy or PD Officer and see what it's like, really. Pull a day shift, then also do a night with someone. It'll be interesting, and an education of sorts. The experience may not change your mind at all, but at least your thoughts about it all with be unfiltered by a propaganda machine.

I don't know where you're at, but I know people all over the country. I'd be willing to help you set something up...

I really think you'll find most LEO's, and most of the people they encounter everyday, are good and trying to make a positive impact.
