Scrolled back and read the fox article you shared.
A couple things jumped out at me:
First one speaks for itself...
"'Just tell me, just tell me what's going on.' And then when he said what happened, I just screamed, 'Both? Both!'" Rebecca Kiessling said. She and her husband, Bob, lost both their sons at the same time to drugs. "
The second one was that they became addicted to xanax. Now, they obviously look like shit heads, and likely were, but xanax is not even prescribed much anymore because of how addictive it is. The VA, to my knowledge, won't prescribe ANY benzos these days because of it. So i can definitely see how these kids became addicts. I really don't find it less tragic because of that last sentence. We obviously have different outlooks on addicts and their worth, and that's fine. We obviously empathize with the mother differently and that's fine too. We both agree that as a country, we have bigger issues to deal with than this single case. No question. But I have no doubt in the mother's eyes, this is the only thing that matters as her entire world was just dropped from beneath her. And the fentanyl crisis is a big issue in my opinion. And having a sitting president who thinks it's a funny joke is also a symptom of a much bigger issue. If we don't agree with that, also fine.
