Let's say KIA was advertising a car that get's 80MPG. In reality, the car only gets 40MPG. The dealer knows the car doesn't get 80MPG, but runs ads with the manufacturer's claim of 80MPG because high mileage cars are in demand. And demand means profit.
You're fine with this?

One should never buy something based on the manufacturers word alone. I buy from Midway quite often and get exactly what I purchase. Before I click that "submit order" button I do plenty of research on customer reviews, forum gossip, and personal experience from known professionals/experts. Buying something like expensive optics should take a good amount of knowledge going in. If not, you are not the kind of person that is going to get the most out of the optics anyway, and will probably be fine with the cheapo you ended up getting, IMO.
Ever wonder how every buffet in Vegas or Reno is "voted best buffet"?
Meh, that is how I see it, but I believe heavily in personal responsibility and capitalism.
