Suppressors YHM Mite Recore?

I know there are a few companies out there that will Recore the YHM Mite. Besides these Recores having a lower DB rating, do they do anything to help the Mite can dissasemble any easier?
Shot the Mite today and 300 rounds later the bitch was not unscrewing. I think its crap that you have to "soak" these cans over night after you shoot them to clean them.

How about you stop worrying about it being clean and just shoot it? In my experience, most suppressors get quieter the more dirty they get.

I was always under the impression that too dirty, at least with rim fires, can significantly lessen volume over time and thus the cans get louder. I'll defer to Steve on that one because he has a lot more suppressor experience than me. My problem with the Mite was never getting it apart. My problem was it was it was too dern loud. I sent mine off a couple weeks ago for this recore

It costs more than the Mite did but at least I will have a much more usable suppressor with no wait or tax stamp vs buying a different .22 can. You live and learn with suppressors.

In my experience this scenario would take MILLIONS of rounds....If it happened at all. The trick is to buy a quality suppressor in the first place. A quality suppressor is self purging.

Good question and I never found a good answer. The silencerstore recore is cheaper and Titsworth claims 8-14dB reduction which is a lot so I decided to try it. I have heard very good things about both recores. Quality suppressor may be the crux here like Steve said because judging by how dirty the Mite was after several hundred rounds a million would probably equal solid hunk of carbon. I have a Phantom that has given me many rounds of good use but the Mite is very old suppresor technology from what I gather and definitely one of the louder ones available by comparison.

Why would I want to continue to shoot a can knowing that after 300 rounds its sealed shut? I don't see how people wait until 500, 1000 or even 1500 rounds to clean a .22 can. My shit is still soaking as I type this. Its not even budging on coming loose. I just got it back from the factory because of their screw up and I'll be damned if I send it back again lol..

I sent it a week and a half ago and they were held up waiting on end caps. Should be here shortly

Got in my silencerstore recore yesterday. What an improvement. I mean damn it is VERY much quieter than the Mite was originally to my ears with much less first round pop. Done again from scratch I would likely buy a Sparrow but if you already have a Mite as I did this is a great option. It turned a can at the bottom of the heap in performance into one with top tier suppression. More overall money spent but more appealing to me than starting over with the stamp process. If you read this thread there is a code for $50 off making the recore come in at $250.

I had John do my Mite as well with the same results. I got the SS baffles and finally got around to cleaning it yesterday after about 1200 rounds. No trouble with the end cap and "the dip" cleaned up the baffles with no work. I love this thing now. If you already have a Mite and aren't happy there's no need to wait around for a new stamp. He completed mine and had it back in a week.
