about a week ago i got my AR out together, and a few days ago i took it to the range to get everything sighted in. i started with the Buis as this made more sense to me and went on to the EOTech. being in the military (Air Force Crew Chief, yeah i know...) and being slightly familiar with the sighting in process of an M16, i printed a few of the 25 yd zero targets that we use. i was shooting xm193 55gr FMJBT (at 8.00 and some change this was excelent plinking ammo) anyways i thought i had it zeroed at 25yds for the 300 yd "battle" sight in. when i took it to 100 though i was all over the place, high, low in the middle , every where. now granted i know i was shooting at a hundred yards with iron sights at somthing the size of a baseball, but i think the whole 25yd 300yd "battle" sight is bullshit. i had the rifle in a rest with a rear bag, so movement really wasn't a problem. i was practicing proper breathing, trigger squeeze, and sight picture. pretty much what im asking is if i sight in at 100 yds for a 300 yd zero where do i need to be in relation with my point of aim? and the same thing goes with my EOTech.
