I’ve been trying to help the newer shooters that shoot our local NRL22 matches and are on our local forum. I decided to make a couple videos to show them how I would shoot the stages for the November COF and well for a typically introverted guy I kind of enjoy the process. If it benefits any new shooters and helps grow the sport then I’m all for it. Videos are a little rough but I’m learning every time I make one.

So, I have this Remington 700P in 308. Nice shooting rifle. However I guess I wanted to be one of the cool kids and start lusting for a detachable mag. The bottom metal as provided by HS Precision (rifle came in a HS stock ) is crazy $$$ IMO. I already have a MDT XRS on another rifle so I figure what the heck put the Remy in one too. Nice and redundant.
I had already worked up a mag length round that shot well in the rifle while in the HS. So, XRS shows up, I swap the action over and off to the range I go.
Right out of the case the rifles POI is a good 1inch low at 100y. The groups... not good. I would say double what the rifle normally shot.
I ran 20 rounds through the chronograph and didn't see any unusual FPS or spread.
So, my question is when going from one aluminum backbone stock to the other, do I need to workup an entire new load?

As a point of comparison when moving my 12FV to the XRS I had no such issues.

Is the upper toast when it’s time for a new barrel, or were you able to get it out of the upper with some heat and re-use it?

Will Loctite 620 come off of the barrel extension and upper pretty easy if you needed to pull the barrel for something, and reinstall it?

I’m finishing up a new build this week with a CLE Krieger Recon 5.56 barrel and would like to put it together. The rub is that the threads are 5/8x24, and I would like to pull the barrel back off eventually to have it recut to 1/2x28, so I can run my OCM5 can when the government gives me my permission slip. I’m guessing it’ll be about a year before I see the can. I currently have a couple muzzle devices I can use to run my Omega in the meantime, until that day comes. I need to know if bedding it before I get it recut is a bad idea or not.

Have a lightly used Terminus Zeus SA with a trigger tech (primary? I’ll pull to see can’t remember on this one. Have mag face bolt and a standard face bolt. Standard bolt as mpa knob on it.
