SOLD KAC SR-25 ACC, Factory FDE

The rifle was part of the limited release by KAC earlier this year, shipped to Brownells. The ACC model has been discontinued making this more desirable for those crazy KAC collectors. I installed a MAMS, an optic, and fired 20 rounds for zero'ing. It has since been relegated to the back of my safe, only seeing daylight for photographing purposes.

This is 100% factory with a MAMS. Comes with all factory original parts (buis, mag, manual), case, and proof documents. This sucker patterned a .66" test target which I understand to be one of the better patterning rifles.

Rifle has small nicks on the brass deflector from normal operations, as well as faint marks in the magwell area. Otherwise, it's soopah clean.

Not looking for trades at this time.

A little help please fellas

Guys, I really appreciate any help /advice that I can get. I have a new Armalite M15 Competition 3Gun w/18" barrel.
Now, I really am ignorant to AR's. I have had a couple SBR CZ Bren 805's. But, I've only ever had 1 AR15 before this Armalite and I didn't keep it that long. At any rate, I hate that SPROING! noise and feel after I shoot her.
So, would one of those JP Rifles captured silent springs work? Or anything besides that?
I'm wandering what my best option is.
I had the Armalite up for sale recently but, decided to keep her because I think she's really a great rifle with the tunable muzzle break and all. Thanx for any help fellas.

Bergara Issue that Frank Mentioned

Hey guys. Frank mentioned an issue on the podcast with the Bergara rails coming loose. Anyone know specifics? Is it Bergara factory rails?

I am about to attend a two day class with my Bergara B14 HMR in 6.5 Creedmoor. It has an Area 419 rail. Wondering if I need to keep a close eye on it or if I should be good. And yes, I torqued it to specs and used blue locktite. :)

Thanks for any help.

Fishing noob questions.

Total fishing noob, buuuut drunkenly ordered a Daiwa BGMQ 14000H spinning reel, and a Daiwa 904XH 4S offshore pilk rod, however the rod power isn’t listed in the specs. My first fishing pole set that isn’t some cheapo from walmart🤣. Anyhoo would this reel and rod work for SoCal pacific fishing?, and what does pilk mean, ddg search doesn’t really come up with much. Not looking to try to hook Marlins or sailfish yet but def would be nice to have that capability.

Cabela's is running a sale on the Savage Axis XP, now normally I would turn my nose up at a rifle like this, but I have a bit of a hair up my ass lately to build an 8mm Mauser chambered pseudo budget precision hunting rifle. I figured with this kind of deal, it makes sense.. So I ordered a rifle in 30.06, I paid $310 for it on sale, Vista Outdoors will be sending me a $50 rebate, I finally signed up for their CC which gave me another $20 in club points to use, and I had a $50 gift card to burn also. Total price after club points and rebate put this rifle right at $190.

So sub $200 for a savage action, I figure I could get a couple dollars out of the factory 30.06 barrel and maybe the stock because its camo, I will use the scope it comes with as a trade in for a new optic with Cabela's under their trade in deal, which will save me $40-$60 depending on what I decide to top it with. I will likely order a Pac-Nor barrel for it and toss it in an MDT LSS or ORYX chassis, add a Timney trigger and call it a day.

So am I crazy or should I go full send?

Wife and I want to buy an RV trailer, found one about 1500 miles from us in Alvin Texas...

Private seller.

What's the best way to facilitate the money / title transfer short of driving the two days and doing the hand-off in person?

Any one here near that area? Want to make some extra coin doing us a huuuuuuuuuuge favor?

Anyway, looking for any and all advice from the more experienced brethren here on the 'Hide. Thank you gentlemen.

Recommendations on Food Suppliers

I have seen a few threads regarding this but has anyone had an personal experience with the long term food supply companies (such as My Patriot Supply,4Patriot and etc)?

I live on the east cost so natural disasters (hurricanes) are typical and in the past with just my wife and i we have made everything work but now that I have a 1 year old my priorities changed. My wife and I will understand missing a meal during a bad situation but I cannot explain that to my son (hopefully that statement makes sense).

I was wondering what companies people would recommended, I would like to store a few buckets in the closet for SHTF or a natural disaster. Hoepfully they will never be used but for a few hundred bucks I think I can sleep better at night knowing I have it.

Mobile Sattelite internet/hotspot

I know there's a lot of people here who travel where 5G/LTE isn't an option and I'm wondering what you use? I need something that will cover me and be as reliable as satellite can be in the lower 48, Canada, and AK. I don't need to be able to stream porn, but I need to be able to work for a few hours a day without a service that costs $5 a minute or something like that.

So what do you use?

Also any recommendations for a sat phone/plan?

Thanks.

mk12 story of 5 sf vs 200 iraq

Long time lurker, new member here, love the forum and what it has taught me in my hobby of rifle precision. I keep running into a story about 5 sf dudes, 3 using the mk12 spr to cover and retreat from some iraq soldiers and ended up killing 170 some in the process. Love the mk12 rifle and curious to read more about that story but cant find anything more than it being referenced in many articles as that one time... thanks.

Mid priced spotting scope choice

Hi,

I am looking for a mid priced [$600 to $1,300] spotting scope for use at the range and to observe animals in the field. At the range it will mainly be used at 100 to 200 yards, but out to 300 to 400 yards when watching animals. It will not be used a lot but I want decent quality.

My short list so far is the Athlon Ares 15-45x60 and the Leupold GR 12-40X60 HD. Are any of the Vortex models worth a look?

Back 20 years ago when I went to the range a little I had the older cousin to the Leupold, it seemed to work OK but I had to send it back twice for glass dust inside the scope which looked like stars when the sun hit them just right. I quit shooting and sold everything and now that I am getting ready to retire I want to start up again.

Does anyone have any input on those models or is there something else I should be looking at?

Thanks, Mike

The 3:00 a.m. call

- a short story set in the near future...

--------

The White House
October 17, 2021 3:00 a.m.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff have just concluded an emergency teleconference to discuss reports that Communist Chinese forces have invaded Taiwan. At the same time, five of the U.S. Space Command's key military spy satellites have been destroyed, leaving U.S. forces virtually blind to activities both on the ground and in the air in East Asia. There are also unconfirmed reports that tactical nuclear weapons have likely been used to destroy critical Taiwanese naval facilities and air bases. Casualties are unknown. Status of Taiwanese military forces are also unknown as virtually all communications with the island have been cut off. Only garbled shortwave radio transmissions are getting out.

The Secretary of Defense has the responsibility of waking the President and providing him with a hastily prepared situation report.

The President tells Defense Secretary Austin to meet him in the Oval Office. Shutters are closed and curtains are drawn over the windows. The Secretary of State and heads of the CIA and DIA join them shortly.

Secretary Austin speaks first: “Mr. President, you will notice in the report that we have determined that our force structure would normally allow us a number of methods of responding to this action by the CCP. However, our lack of satellite intel confines our effective response to a limited nuclear strike against those strategic military targets on the Chinese mainland that we know, with a high degree of certainty, would be used to stage and support an attack on Taiwan. The consensus is that we should not launch this strike before we have made an attempt to communicate directly with Chairman Xi. Of course, any delay in putting our response in motion greatly reduces our chances of resolving this crisis to our benefit.”

Austin pauses for a moment, takes a deep breath, then asks: “What is your order, Mr. President?”

Biden, after a lengthy pause of his own, squinting at the papers before him, slowly looks up and says:

“Guys, this menu makes no goddamn sense to me at all. Just get me a Big Mac... with cheese... a-a-and a little cup of that soft-serve ice cream, too. Yeah, that's my order.”

THE END
