Jan 6 “defendants” are political prisoners, change my mind

So they got people in solitary confinement who never even were there.

And those who were there committed such heynis crimes as, breaking a window, or…take our children out the room for this…putting their feet up on a desk.

It was a slightly rowdy walk in protest in a public building, that’s it. I’d say those who broke a window or something should have just been given a ticket paid a fine and that was that.

Folks tried to break down the doors doing some of trumps scotus nominations, I don’t recall anything like this, plus much much worse over the last few years, lest we talk about the “summer of love”

They are political prisoners

Two rescued after falling into M&M Mars factory chocolate tank

Finally some good news.

"
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) – A rescue was prompted at the Mars M&M factory in Lancaster County after two people became stuck in a chocolate tank.

A Lancaster County 911 supervisor says the first victim was extricated from the tank at 3:10 p.m. and the second was out by 3:25 p.m. after both fell into the tank. The condition of both victims is unknown at this time, but both were taken to area hospitals..."

Be sure to check your M&M's and Dove chocolate bars for fingernails, shoes or missing body parts.

Media outlets were "on scene" and reported traffic cones were deployed, yellow tape was up and an OSHA investigation which could take up to 6 months was imminent.

Details slowly emerging...

UK media reports the harrowing escape from the waist-deep chocolate was due to the rapid work of highly-trained experts.

The US Military Is Almost Completely Dependent On China For Key Mineral Used In Ammunition: REPORT

"
Moulton and seven Republicans wrote to the defense appropriations subcommittee in April asking for an additional $264 million in funding for the National Defense Stockpile (NDS), a reserve of critical materials used in national emergencies. The letter claimed that in the last 30 years Congress had “authorized the sell-off” of the majority of the stockpiled materials.

“The current stockpile is inadequate to meet the requirements of great power competition,” the letter stated. “The NDS is no longer capable of covering the Department of Defense’s needs for the vast majority of identified materials in the event of a supply chain disruption.”"

AMP annealer question

Hello folks, I'm a lazy piece of shit and don't really want to have to tumble brass twice in order to anneal and after sizing. My questioned posed to y'all is this:

Does it matter if the brass is "dirty" before running it through the amp? I can't imagine a little bit of carbon is going to affect things that much but i am hoping there's some feedback. The brass is not caked in mud or dirt. It's just been fired and that's it.

Any input would be awesome!

Judge Kavanaugh 'assasin'

This guy was arrested with a glock and other items in a bag, and is charged with 'attempted murder'. I'm not an attorney, but does that reach the level of attempted murder?. I'm suspicious that this was done deliberately, as a swamp strategy to make sure the guy is acquitted. Is that too cynical? Think Sussman.

6-12. Allan Derschowitz now calling 'attempted murder' an 'overcharge'. When the prosecutors can't make their case on this charge, the guy walks. Conspiracy?

Rifle Scopes Vortex Razor LHT 4.5-22x50 Disappointment

Just here to complain because I am so annoyed.

Received a Vortex Razor LHT 4.5-22x50 moa today. I have always been anti vortex, because when they first came out the chinese stuff had a reputation for spending more time being warrantied than on the gun. However, this scope is about the lightest weight FFP available, and that is just what I need for my walking prairie dog build. So I went against my better judgement and got a Vortex. I mean it's made in Japan, probably at LOW, how could it not be good? Right out the box illumination button is defective. Sometimes it doesn't work at all, sometimes it works a few clicks then turns off. Other times it might make it through the 10 click cycle till it flashes, but unfortunately it took between 11 and 14 clicks to get there. And the clicks are mushy sometimes with no audible or tactile click at all. Back to warranty without getting mounted. Now there is no chance of sighting the gun in for my annual PD trip in a few weeks.

In addition to the defect, the turrets are pretty lame for a scope in this price range. The elevation is a bit mushy with a muted sound. Id say a burris signature hd with locking turrets is dang close just a little more slop. The windage is just a joke. I have 300 dollar scopes with clicks that good like swfa fixed power and ultralight.

I knew the reticle I might not like too much. I could live with it i guess, but why such a small opening in the center? Why not 1 moa each side of the center dot like most scopes? Why multiples of 4 instead of 5 like other scopes?

Finally, i dunno why but it feels cheap. I seriously had to tap some of the stuff on the counter to verify it is not plastic. I guess it is because things are made thin to reduce weight.

I will say the glass provides a very nice image on par with my tract toric 4-20x50, but the tract crushes it in every way except weight and the ugly grey color. The other good thing is the locking ocular that is not too huge. Fast focus ocular is no bueno for hunting IMHO and huge oculars can force you to use higher rings on a bolt gun.

Ill take a chinese athlon over another Japanese vortex. That is pretty sad. It'll be for sale unopened when it returns.

Firearms Accuracy International AX Pale Brown SPF, thank you Frank!

Gentlemen,
I have a beautiful Accuracy International AX in Pale Brown on 308 that needs a new caretaker. I have had it for 5 years and I just don’t get to the range as much as I’d like. Someone needs THIS in their life. I have the stock 20” barrel that it came with from Mile High set up with a Surefire Legacy Brake for my Suppressor. I took a long range class a few years ago, and the rifle does what it was designed to do, make hits way out there. Best I have ever shot, 12” wide, 6” tall 5 shot group at 1395 yards. 20” 308 can get it done. This rifle has the quick barrel change system that you can do in the field. At 100 yards your zero shifts around 3/8”, amazing! I have the 2 10 round mags, and can feed from AICS mags as well. I have the rail pieces, and the foam cheek pad, and 2 round holder. Original box too. The barrel that’s in it now is the Proof Carbon Fiber 26” with a Surefire Socom Brake. The beauty of this rifle, is you can order up a 6 Creed or a 6.5 Creed, or any short action caliber. I had Mile High Cerakote the Spuhr mount, and it matches somewhat, but close enough. I have ran the Vortex Gen 2 Razor which is a great scope, and has tracked perfect every time. It comes wit AAD caps which are warranted for life, as well as their cat tail for quick magnificaction changes. I mainly shot Prime 175 308 ammo, and have around 700 rounds on the 20” barrel, and around 200 on the CF Proof. Both shoot around 1/2” at 100 with all rounds I have fired. I have seen 1/4” on a few occasions. This rifle has been meticulously cared for, and has very few handling marks. Mile High has none in stock and if they did it’s 7500. I’m pricing this at 7000$ without the scope, and 9000$ as she sits with the optic/mount package. Ideally, I’d like to do the transfer at my dealer in Sammamish. I can ship to your FFL on your dime If they accept from individuals. The only trades would be an HK93 in great shape, Sig 226 X-5 from the mastershop, HK USP 9 full sized or HK45 full size for partial trade plus cash, but prefer greenbacks. Save the insulting low ball offers, only realistic serious offers. Payment with USPS money orders ONLY. No anti gun PayPal or Venmo.

14.5” “Recce” build (6 ARC, 6.5G or 6.8 SPC)

Gents,

I am looking at building a 12-14.5” “recce” style upper. I want a caliber other than 5.56 just because. I have plenty of 5.56 rifle and want something new. I do reload so that is not a concern.

It’s seems like 6 ARC, 6.5G and 6.8 SPC II are the best choices. I plan to run an LPVO on this rifle and hunt small-medium game in Texas. Yes, hogs too.

Just looking for thoughts and advice.

6 ARC - good bullet selection, externally ballistic superior but not much info on running in a short barrel. How are terminal ballistics?

6.5G - good bullet selection, flatter shooting than 6.8, limited info on short barrels, terminal ballistics good

6.8 SPC - poor bullet selection relative to others, terminal ballistics are superior, better performer in short barrels.

What would y’all do or recommend?

Public Service Announcement ala Raineer

Heads up, Rainier was hacked sometime last year.
I just got a letter from them saying my credit card data was stolen (no-fucking-shit you assholes, that's why I have a new one now).
So, between June 1 2021 and Jan 19 2022 if you purchased anything from Rainier with a credit card.....YOU are fucked.

Knowing a few tidbits about the way this shit works.....it was probably an inside job (disgruntled employee).
Funny how a charge to Chipotle for just over 100 was on my credit card, and there isn't a Chipotle within 300 miles of me.

You know what to do.
I know what not to do.....order anything from Rainier ever again.
If it takes them 1 full year to figure this shit out.....it's not important to them, at all.

SOLD Vortex Razor II 4.5-27x56mm EBR-2C mRad, $1285 shipped

I have for sale a Vortex Razor Gen 2 4.5-27x56mm with an EBR-2C mRad reticle. $1285 shipped conus. PayPal F&F or USPS Money order for payment. Lots of feedback on here as well as eBay & GunBroker with the same username.

The scope is mechanically, electrically, and optically perfect. It was my primary match scope on a 260 Rem for years, so it has some marks on the body including faint ring marks and a scratch on the top of the ocular housing. Minor finish wear on sharp edges of the knobs. It’s been a faithful companion, but I’ve swapped to the same scope with a different reticle so this one needs a new home. The EBR-2C is one of the less busy Christmas tree reticles, so if that’s your thing, this will work great.

Includes the scope & Vortex caps only. No box or sunshade. I moved a couple years ago and that box is among the crap that was lost in the mist. I welcome your questions & can provide additional pics upon request.

Buffalo NY Mom Can Feel Shrapnel Under Son's Skin

Mother of a Buffalo mass shooting victim says she can still feel the pieces of a bullet embedded in his back when she cleans his wounds.

Personally, if I can still feel shrapnel, I'd get a new doctor.

The mother of a Buffalo shooting victim said her son, who was injured in the attack, said he still has pieces of the bullet under his skin.
Zaire Goodman, 21, was an employee at a Tops supermarket in Buffalo, New York where a gunman opened fire last month, killing 10 people in what police have called an attack motivated by racist hate.
"My son Zaire has a hole in the right side of his neck, two on his back, and another on his left leg. Caused by an exploding bullet from an AR-15," Zeneta Everhart told Congress in a hearing on gun violence in the U.S. Wednesday.
"As I clean his wounds, I can feel pieces of that bullet in his back. Shrapnel will be left inside his body for the rest of his life," she continued.
She then called out politicians who refuse to act on gun violence in the country.
"I invite you to my home," she said, "to help clean Zaire's wounds so that you can see up close the damage that has been caused to my son and my community."
"As an elected official it is your duty to draft legislation that protects Zaire and all of the children and citizens in this country. Common-sense gun laws are not about your personal feelings or beliefs. You are elected because you have been chosen and trusted to protect us. But let me say here today: I do not feel protected," she said.
