I had a bad weekend with my B14r. I had it in a MPA chassis and had all kinds of feeding issues so after finishing 2nd last in a match I swapped the chassis to a MTD. I shot it yesterday afternoon and now it feeds great, but……..I had a Vortex AMG on it and it shit the bed. I put a Vortex Razor on it this afternoon and sighted in at my 50 yard 0. My question is since the stock and glass was changed and the weight of everything is different will that totally change the harmonics of the rifle? Do I need to recheck everything from 25-300 yards or will it be close? I’m hopping to shoot this weekend again and don’t have enough time to check it all.

Looking at selling most of my match rifle. It’s a impact 737 action with hawk hill heavy varmint barrel. 28” 7.5 twist- .180 freebore. This setup works really well with these a tips. The barrel has 550 ish rounds on it. All 110 a tips. I bought 2000 a tips and shot 5 ish boxes. Foundation centurion stock with brass weight kit glued in. I’m not selling the trigger, btm metal or scope but everything else is up for sale. The stock is cut for m5 metal. Area 419 hellfire match brake. The rifle performs great I have just sorta gotten out of the sport because of work etc.. 387 pieces of alpha ocd. 200 Unfired the rest has 3 firings. Also have regular hellfire brake 6mm.

Which caliber would be better for shooting over 3.5 miles accurately. The .338 LM or the .416 Barrett. I'm asking this because I am going to attempt to break the world's longest shot. And it was 3.4 miles I am doing it at 4 miles. I will be in the Nevada desert. And for the most part flat or level ground.

I have two one Rem 700 barreled actions, an XLR chassis, and an HS Precision stock with bottom metal that I have replaced or will be replacing when these move. Both actions have an RR prefix. Bipod and scope not included.

Rem 700 SPS TAC .223. 16.5" threaded heavy barrel with 1/9 twist. Shoots 40 gr Hornet, 50 gr BTIP, and 69 gr SMK extremely well. Not so good with 77 Nosler and 77 SMK. Includes scope base and Timney Elite single stage trigger. Round count in the ballpark of 700. Does not include scope.

Rem 700 SA SS Rem action chambered in Rem .260. 24" threaded SS straight taper BHW barrel with 1/8 twist. The barrel tapers from 1.065 to .80. Remage barrel nut with .200 PTG lug. Can't remember where I got the nut and lug but the smith assembled and head spaced the barrel. I have only shot 123 Noslers with this setup and it shoots them very well. Includes scope base and trigger. No thread cap. Round count is 200.

XLR Gen I chassis. This chassis has been replaced with an Mg chassis. It has been used in and out of vehicles and shows wear. I had to relieve some material where the bolt handle projects to accommodate a Terminus bolt handle. I also drilled and tapped two replacement screws on one side of the check piece to replace the single screw. It works much better but alas it is not pretty. Has the Ergo grip and new foam on the cheek rest. Does not include bipod.

HS Precision stock with bottom metal. I bought this as a takeoff from a 5R rifle. I bought a bottom metal and sent it off to Florida somewhere to have it inletted. It accepts AICS mags. The stock shows wear and has a some chips that I tried to indicate in the

Out getting some trigger time behind my DD M4A1 this weekend. Pulled the trigger on one round and heard a faint pop, no bang.

The bolt was open by about 1/4 inch but I could not clear the round. I was shooting reloads and suspected I had a squib. Pulling as hard as I could with both hands with the butt of the rifle in my chest, I still could not eject the round.

So, I began to work the bolt closed with the forward assist and then pull back hard. After about three repeats, the round ejected. The primer firing was just enough power to stick the bullet in the throat. I was afraid the bullet might be pulled free from the case and stick in the throat but, it did not. See pic below.

I guess I just became a fan of the forward assist. Is there a downside to having one?
