Can someone explain like I'm five how anybody at all is getting powder these days?

Given no online retailers, or any brick-and-mortar shop within 300 miles of me in Northern California, seems to ever have powder for sale you would think that there should be zero shooting for any of us.

And yet, my local range is still having weekend steel competitions...still holding the long range practices, and doesnt seem like foot traffic has died at all.

Ive not been able to back order anything, it seems. Plus, we are all on the same "notify me when in stock" lists at the same places. For which I've gotten zero notifications.

It seems to me that you have to know someone to get some powder "held in back" or something else entirely. Fluke perhaps?

Not trying to piss anybody off or open a can of worms but just looking for some helpful advice from those that went through thia back in the 2012-2014 time frame what I can/should be doing that does NOT involve dropping my pants and bending over on gunbroker.

Not fast, but after several months on backorder, I have 100 cases of Lapua 300-PRC headed my way. I really appreciate online retailers like Grafs & Sons and Creedmoor Sports that accept, manage, and honor backorders. I've been looking for one of the CZ mini mausers for awhile and came across "CZ Gun Store" near top of my searches. This is a professionally done website with good pictures, search, accounts, shopping cart, ffl entry field, etc. STill this has the markings of a scam. All of the CZ products appear to be in stock or at least available for purchase and free shipping. Somehow the product descriptions do not seem quite right, just from the way they read. On checkout, the flags get raised more as the only payment options are zelle and a discount for bitcoin (!!!). Probably most buyers will bail at that stage. Looks like the domain was registered 5 months ago. The striking part is how good the site looks and works especially if you're just clicking through things.

Got this unit from EuroOptic a while back and used it exactly 1 time. Tube is flawless and I couldn’t see any blems. I took a pic last night for reference. I tried getting some through the scope pics, but I obviously suck at that so no dice. It was moonless last night though and I was able to see individual tree branches at 400 and a transformer at 420 in total darkness. FOM is 1868 which is good for these refurb unit. The thing works great.

There are obviously dings on the housing as it is a refurb unit, but doesn’t affect performance at all. It come with a pretty slick new lever from MK Machining that moves the focus waayyyy closer to you take a look at the pics, it’s a really nice upgrade. Comes with factory box, padded case, beer coozy, ocular and objective caps and throw lever.

I’ve got an FN PBR that has a Nighforce SHV F1 on it. It maxes out at 14x magnification and I’m looking to replace it with something in the 18-21x on the top end, but would also like to keep the weight down.

Looking around I see the Leupold MK5HD and MK6 are in the 24-26 oz range and I kind of like the CCH reticle

I’ve got a gen 2 razor in 3-18 and it’s a tank at 46 ounces.

The Bushnell scopes in this range are around 37 ounces, so still rather heavy.

The Nightforces are a little under powered at 16x.

Is there anything else out there that would fit the bill?

Before I am crucified for asking, I have been looking through the forums for this answer and have found none, which is odd for how many times it's been asked.

Long story short, I have a little bit of cash, and I've built quite a few ARs. I have been researching like crazy on building a bolt gun in 6.5CM. I keep coming back to the same question on actions. I understand that Tikkas are great actions, and don't have as much after market support as others. I'd probably just do a trigger spring, stock and new barrel after I shoot the Tikka barrel out, And be happy as long as it's at or under 1/2 moa.

BUT, and a huge BUT, my concern isn't which action is incredibly smooth. The most important thing to me is durability. Would a bighorn origin, or defiance tenacity barrled action be more durable? From what I'm seeing, I could almost get 2 Tikkas for the price of one barrled action. But again, I want durability. Thanks

usually shooting 77 gr match type ammo out of my "precision" ar,, (jp barrel, nice trigger, etc) i guess i should just try it and see but has anyone tried it. if i wasn't concerned about the extra weight,, would my 338 tbac ultra, despite being for a much bigger caliber, be quieter than my .30 cal harvestor or spec-war 223(heavy steel) i use a superlative adj gas block that i adjust to just barely cycle.

Well, yes...its a ring and its black so I'm assuming carbon but is this what people are talking about when they have concern/performance issues resulting from a carbon ring?

I'm guessing that the ring forms just past where the neck of the case stops...that is, right at the beginning of the free bore? Right?

Sorry my pic isn't that good...I need to experiment with this less expensive bore scope (Teslong) and see if I can up the quality. But this ring is showing at a point that appears to me to be back from from the little constriction which I assume is where the neck ends....right???

Still downsizing the collection. Almost done, but this is the last rifle I’m letting go. 2017 small firing pin AXSA in green. Rifle comes with 4 mags, four sections of rail, hardware from the factory, and hoptic cheek pad. Barrel was bought aftermarket from Euro and has exactly 100 rounds on it. It’s threaded 5/8x24 and has thread protector. Small nick on muzzle end visible in pics. It is the 10 twist as opposed to the factory 12 twist. Rifle has exactly 300 rounds total on it. I gave the 260 barrel to my brother.
