Gunsmithing How to strip coating inside action?

I have a bighorn action that was coated by the gunsmith years ago. I don’t remember what kind of coating it was but it’s starting to make the bolt sticky. I’m wondering what the best way to strip it is? The coating is pretty durable, the outside of the action still looks great after all these years of use.

Was thinking some kind of media blaster, if that’s the route what type of media should I use?

SOLD Tikka T3 223 Varmint in Sporter Stock with Lots of Extras PRICE DROP

Have my eye on something, so letting some things go. This is a Tikka T3 in 223. Barreled action started out life as a 24" 1:8 varmint model. Josh at Patriot Valley Arms cut it to 20" and threaded it 1/2x28 for me. Added Mountain Tactical extended length rail (pretty sure it is a 20 MOA), stainless recoil lug, and metal bolt shroud. Swapped bolt handle and stock from a T3 Sporter. Sale includes rifle, J Dewey rod guide, and Pelican 1750 case. Sale also includes 3 Waters Tikka 223 magazines. If you aren't familiar with these, they are an extremely well made metal mag that works with factory Tikka bottom metal. I believe the silver is a Gen. 3 and the two black mags are Gen. 5. These aren't cheap, but they are exceptionally well made, and they allow a longer OAL (Throat opening of mag is a hair over 2.6"). Rifle shoots in the 0.6" - 0.75" range with 70 grain Nosler RDF's and H4895. $1875 shipped and insured to your FFL via UPS Ground. USPS money order only unless arranged otherwise.

Your PVA prefit experience

Looking to order a PVA prefit to replace a bartlein at the end of the year on my match gun. Undecided on getting another bartlein and waiting, and shipping and waiting or just ordering a PVA prefit. Looking to hear experience, good, bad, ugly. Specifically likely going with a 6.5cm 7.5twist shouldered for a tikka.

Let me know your experience.

Quick reference guide for SD required to be confident you have a single digit SD load.

Ok, let’s break some hearts. Here’s a list of what SD you need to have based on your sample size to be fairly confident you have a single digit SD load.

If your sample SD for that string size is higher than this, you *may* still have a single digit SD. But this is the number you need to be as confident as possible (generally speaking).

Flame suit ready.

- 3 shots: 1.5 fps
- 5 shots: 3.2 fps
- 10 shots: 5.1 fps
- 15 shots: 5.9 fps
- 20 shots: 6.4 fps
- 25 shots: 6.7 fps
- 30 shots: 7.0 fps
- 50 shots: 7.5 fps
- 100 shots: 8.1 fps

Basically, if you shoot a sample size over your chrono and the SD is larger than that, you have a chance (% of chance depends how much higher the SD is) that your load won’t be single digit in the long run.

This doesn’t mean that SD’s at or below these numbers won’t be higher. It also doesn’t mean SD’s above this won’t be single digit.

This is just the maximum SD you can have for a given shot string and be as confident as possible that you have a long term single digit SD.

This just in. FJB say a 9mm will blow a lung out of a body

And now he wants to ban that caliber.

Wait til he learns what a 10 will do.

Biden is literally the dumbest motherfucker in any room he enters.

Biden calls 9mm ‘high-caliber weapons,’ suggests banning them

"They said a .22-caliber bullet will lodge in the lung, and we can probably get it out — may be able to get it and save the life. A 9mm bullet blows the lung out of the body," Biden said."

OMG, it's true, a .45ACP can knock a man down by just hitting him in the hand!

Where does this idiot find such dumb things to say? I think somebody is being punked! Are you guys sending these little tidbits to the WH?

Movie Theater Bad Day at Black Rock... Great movie!

Never got around to watching this... but recorded it last night.

Spencer Tracy. Earnest Borgnine. Walter Brennan. Lee Marvin... Great cast.

In a lot of ways, was really the prototype for High Plains Drifter.

Totally worth watching. Some great movies on this weekend on TCM and AMC.

Cheers,

Sirhr

PS Sorry, edited to move to Movie Theater. Was supposed to be there in the first place.

What age are you an aDuLt?!? SERIOUSLY! 🤦🏻

I thought you were an adult at 18 but now idk where it starts.

First my confusion:
-18 vote
-18 enter contract
-18 perform in porn
-18 to die in a war
-18 21 to buy smokes
- 21 to buy pistol ammo
-25 to rent a car
-26 kicked off mommy’s health insurance

Can we get on the same fucking page already?’

"Meteor Storm" tonite... 1000 per hour possible.

Supposed to be visible in the East starting around 12:30 - 1:30 am Eastern. Going to be cool and clear here!

As many as 1000 shooting stars per hour.

If you have NODS, these are really spectacular when watching through night vision. You see all kinds of stuff that you can't see unaided. @TheGerman if you are out on the range next few nights, may be a spectacular 'post-show' show for your clients!

Anyway, I plan to stay up if I can! Should be pretty darn cool.

Age to Vote =/> Age to buy Guns

IMHO and as the title suggests, the age to even Register to vote should be equal to or higher than the age to buy guns.

I'm AGAINST raising the minimum age for gun purchases to 21 Y.O.

Prior to 1970 the minimum age to vote in America was 21 years of age. Personally, I think the minimum age to Register to vote should be 29, with all the following requirements: being Natural Born of Natural Born parents, birth certificate, photo and fingerprints, property ownership, no warrants/outstanding fines or taxes, with a Red Flag law for voters.

Voter rolls to be cleared every year. No drop boxes. No absentee ballots except for Military. Voter ID, fingerprints and photos taken at every ballot casting.

A single vote can cause the ruin of a country, but one gun can't- so it's CLEAR votes are more dangerous than guns.

It's time for real change.

Fuck the traitorous Dems and RINOs in the ass with an Ebonite.
