The board I made. It was fun, and time consuming. Aggravating at times, but I wanted it to turn out nice. Table saw, jointer, biscuit cutter, clamps, planer, sander...and a lot of "elbow grease".

Managed to run 500 9mm through the Dillon 650 with a MrBulletFeeder and auto case feeder without a single snag, hiccup, part flying off, upside down fucking something, stuck fucking primer in some space that it is impossible for a primer to even get into, or any other event that made me stop and have to literally tear half the machine apart and/or re-calibrate its angle with the axis of the earth while Jupiter is in phase.

I'm sure theres some of you that have managed this feat 10000 times. You also all probably have high blood pressure and have had to buy things like replacement reloading stools and have learned to patch holes in drywall.

I'm actually horrified to go and check if all of the dies are still fully screwed into the toolhead.

I finally became that knowitall smug looking motherfucker in the Dillon videos. I can check this off the list now.

I'm wondering just what this is all about. A friend who lives about 3 miles east of me in Reno, Nevada sent this picture that he took from his living room window the other day. On the left is a police officer pointing an AR-15 type rifle at the apartment building balcony. Behind him is another police officer holding a radio. Behind him is a local guy looking on. To the right we see 3 police officers looking around the corner in to the parking area, but at what exactly they are looking at I don't know. To their right are two female police officers who look like they have their guns drawn but with their arms hanging down. On the balcony we see a woman talking with a man who is holding a small black dog. My friend says that he thinks he saw the police take two rifles away from someone but he didn't see anyone get arrested. He said that in all he saw 11 police officers. I was wondering if the woman is one of those social workers that the police defunders want to send around. But why the need for so much back up? And how exactly are they providing backup standing around like they are? And who had the guns, the guy with the dog? Any thoughts?

The commercial factory ammunition in 6.5 Creedmoor tends to max out at about 147 grains, and many of the commercial offerings are far lighter than that.

Whereas the classical NATO battle rifles [7.62/308] offered payloads out to 175 and even 185 grains.

When reading about the 6.5 Creedmoor, I keep stumbling upon comments like the following [concerning a 143 grain round]:

MT: "I just shot a Muley Doe at about 250 yards... Hit her in the shoulder with one of these bullets and she limped off. I was able to finish her off after a short tracking job. When I skinned her out I found that the bullet never entered the chest cavity. It hit the front shoulder and and there it stayed..."

White Owl: "Shot mule deer at 30 yds with 3 shots thru lungs in Montana last week. The deer stood there like nothing happened..."

Chase: "...My hunting guide found the access 3 days later approx 400 yards away with a pencil hole through both shoulders..."

So is the 6.5 Creedmoor too "perfect" of a round for a Battle Rifle?

Is it too fast, too aerodynamic, too clean, too surgical?

Conversely, is there anything to be gained from using a bigger slower sloppier round in a Battle Rifle?

I’ve been playing around with torque settings on my action screws. I shot close to 30 ten shot groups, and all I did was try different action screw torque settings. It was incredible how much just a few inch pounds would make to a group!!! All of my groups were shot prone, and at 80 yards. I wanted to do 100, but the wind was not cooperating. So I shot 80, because I could use a metal building and hay bails as a wind break. I found that 18-20 inch pounds pretty much got rid of all my flyers!! So I put a tiny bit of blue loctite on my action screws, set them to 20 inch pounds, and let it cure over night. This morning I shot it again, and walla, no flyers! Here’s my 5 groups this morning. I shot the top left first. Although the wind was blocked, still needed a little bit of right adjustment. My first group (top left) shows that. I shot the second group (top right) with .1 added for the wind. I shot the 3rd group (bottom left), and added .1 more for wind. Then I shot the bottom right target 4th. The 5th group was my best. I placed a small stick in the target and aimed for it. I shot it out! Just as I was about to call it quits, a big horse fly landed on the box. I smoked him!

Could have been so simple and straightforward.

- Identify the transpo logistics of what it would take to get everyone in each base out. Set a timetable and constantly check it. Meeting/not meeting timed goals would/would not have you initiate the next level of draw down.

- Initiate a structured draw down to close FOBS/COPS/FBs, etc out in the middle of nowhere and have the units and equipment recycle back to whatever main installation they are 'attached to.

- Only initiate operations that will keep/push any enemy activity away from those installations as well as task them to cover the draw downs at outside FOBS.

- Issue a 'Kessel Order' for all of the large logistical installations. Adjust ROE to basically 'no one comes close to here or we blow you up'.

- Systematic logistical airlift evacuations at the larger installations to constantly have personnel not 'guarding the castle' or performing rear guard draw down operations out. Keep these running in line with the time table to initiate the next phase(s) of draw downs.

- Begin demo of any assets/equipment deemed to be left behind as they come in

- Once the only people left were the guys holding down the fort and everyone/everything else was accounted for, initiate destruction/disabling the installations (i.e. destroy runways, buildings, etc)

You would have known, if I were the base commander, that we had left Bagram because you would have been able to see the fire from 10 miles away.

Instead, we're negotiating with the fucking taliban of who is going to 'protect' what while we're there. The worst part is, we totally did this to ourselves; there was ZERO reason we needed to GTFO like a meth junkie who was just told the cops were coming.

I’ve got a GE French door deal with freezer on bottom, less than 4 years old and for whatever reason, the bottom part of the refrigerator is freezing crap and the top part is like 60 degrees and keeps ruining my meat. Any ideas? Freezer part is fine.

Hi, so about a year-and-a-half ago I left 150 rounds of Black Hills 77 grain TMK in a trash bag during moving (facepalm) which sat in the rain for two days straight, it wasn't submerged but it definitely got wet.

I was comparing this original TMK with some newer boxes I picked up and noticed the new stuff has some sealant around the primer and neck casing.

My question is should I be worried this stuff sat outside for 48 hours in the rain albeit not submerged? I've read that BH stuff is "Water Resistant" but I only see the sealant on the new boxes I have.

Attached below are some side by side comparisons of the 2 different lots.

This happened at the FOD match yesterday, I shot two rounds, wasn’t able to close my bolt, jacked the live round out, and finished the stage to find this… was this just old brass or perhaps another issue?

Been a while since I’ve been on the hide. I’m still waiting on a build that I posted about on here a while back, which should be nearing completion soon so the anticipation has been killing me. In the mean time I’ve been trying to gather up some reloading equipment and components to keep myself occupied until then. I’ve also been brainstorming components do another build when this one is finished. The build I’m waiting on is a 300 PRC based on a Bat Vampire action and centered around the idea of a putting together a light weight all purpose 30 cal. I’m not sure which direction I’m going to go next but I’ve been doing some research on different calibers to try to decide. If you flip through a reloading handbook chances are you’ll probably come across quite a few cartridges you’ve never seen before or run across something you may have heard of but don’t know much about since it’s not commonly used or discussed, then you read the ballistics on it and you think to yourself, damn that is an extremely capable cartridge. I’ve come across several and it got me thinking, if you could create your own ultimate wildcat cartridge using anything out of a reloading handbook what would it be? We are seeing a lot of cool new cartridges come out these days and it seems like the parent case is usually something that’s been around for quite some time that’s tried and true then it’s tied into something a little more modern. And the possibilities almost seem endless. Im a sucker for .30 cals, so I was looking at the .340 Weatherby. The ballistics on this round are pretty impressive for the time period it came out, Weatherby introduced it to compete with the 338 Win Mag and I think they knocked it out of the park with the .340 WBY. With the right configuration of powder it can launch a 250 grain pill 2,900 fps and I’m sure if tuned correctly it could easily reach 3,000 fps. I know absolutely nothing about making Wildcat cartridges so I may sound like an idiot here lol, but If I were capable of building my own cartridge, I think I’d take the .340 Weatherby and get rid of the double radius shoulder and replace it with the 338 lapua shoulder and then trim the neck to get the proper cartridge length. Not really a wildcat per say, just modifying the case I guess but I’d love to see what a .340 WBY modernized like this would do. What would you build?

So after 17 years of matches I’m finally flying to one. I’ve driven up to 15 hours, but 20 is just too far. What can I put in my carryon? I would like to put binos and bipod in backpack, and then match backpack, ammo and bags in suitcase with clothes. Rifle case with rifle, tripod, 3 mags, and TSA locks is 49.6 pounds.

I know I am not going to get OSS type of minimal blowback back in my gun but the can seems to make my rifle run harder than a sandman s. It is a Domnius SR that I used on a Triarc barrel 10.5 and a Criterion Hybrid barrel. Both chucked my brass at the 2 and slammed the buffer back.

I want to try this on a SR-25. Any experience with using this can on a SR-25 or a SCAR 20s? I am going to run the OSS's on my sbrs.

So I shot an NRL-22 match today here in Colorado. A good shooter who I know, and who shall remain nameless, was tearing up the "standing offhand" stage by squatting, like he was taking a shit in the forest, resting both elbows on both knees, thereby gaining some stability, that the traditional-position offhand shooters were of course missing.

The rest of us "traditional-position" competitors were standing, like normal people standing, like rimfire silhouette shooters do, per NRA rules, thinking that we were following the spirit of the NRL-22 rules.

The squatting dude, who I shall call "the shitter," even though I like him, and am not trying to crap on him personally, was cleaning the targets, as intended, with his improved, non-traditional, "standing" position, like he was on a shitter in the woods. OK....

I was squadded with the MD, who said that this was "under conversation" with NRL management, or whatever. Bull fucking shit! Gamers do what gamers gotta do, right? This is my view, anyway....

So why hasn't NRL-22 management addressed this matter, not that I GAF, as I do not compete in NRL-22 except today? Is it even an issue?
