Climate Change. Is this really about weather or is it the “climate we live in that needs to be changed”

Enquiring minds want to know

But

Its always a race issue. The climate queen, responsible for crafting the presidents climate change policy What a fucking mess.

Cecilia Martinez, a member of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, announced that she would resign Friday, nearly one year after accepting the role.

“Black, brown, and Indigenous people across America face disproportionate health burdens from environmental pollution,” they wrote. “Too many communities sit in the crosshairs of climate change, facing increasing safety and health risks without the resources and support they need.”

“She has dedicated her life’s work to advancing equity and environmental justice and is exactly who we need at CEQ
,” Earthjustice President Abigail Dillen said in a statement in January 2021, calling her a “superb choice.”

Suppose we really can do something about overall Earth Climate issues. What the Fuck Does This Have To Do With Fucking RACE?

Unless the entire issue is to divide and conquer the citizens of the United States.

Oh yes, I am pissed.

Firearms Les Baer Ultimate Double Stack

I purchased this in August of 2020 from Chicken Dinner Arms on 1911.com. The pistol has sat in my vault unused, unfired by me. The original intent of purchasing the Les Baer was to have Chicken Dinner Arms (Mitchell) ship the gun direct to Les Baer and have them place an SLR on the shooter and return it to me. But Baer would not accept the gun from Mitchell, since I had paid for it. The Double Stack wound up coming directly to my FFL instead. I never got around to sending it to Les Baer. Instead, I wound up purchasing two Nighhawk Agents, one in 9mm and one in .45 ACP; both with optics. I also have several other pistols with optics, so I will never get around to sending this in. The original add link is below. I do not remember anything about this purchase (not bragging, but I have over a hundred handguns so please don't ask me for a history)

Mitchell accepted $1500 for the shooter. I will sell at a loss - Price is $1400 to me and I will cover shipping.

Need a 1-8 at $2K or less and need some help deciding....please!

I've gone around and around on this and here's where I stand....
Rifle is a SR25 16" barrel; role is range time/SHTF and hunting deer. While I have other AR's (2 SR15's, PWS in 300blk, etc.), this will be my 'main' rifle so I want to keep it light but able to shoot to 500y. I'm currently choosing a range but in any case will be able to shoot at least 300y consistently and in two cases, far more....one up to 3 miles! Clearly I'll not be shooting more than 1,000y ever and if this optic can serve that as well, so be it but it's not the goal.

FFP, ranging reticle like on the S&B mentioned below and illuminated preferred.

In any case, I'll likely add an offset RMR but if not necessary, would increase my interest in the optic.

After a LOT of reading, reviews, videos, etc. I've all but settled on the following optics; NX8, ATACR 1-8 or 4-16 (used), S&B 1.1-8 (used).

I've had the NX8 and the eyebox to me wasn't terrible but I sold it thinking I'd perhaps find better. However, if that's the best I can get for the money, I may be inclined to give it a go again.

All in all, I think the ATACR might be the best option but it's out of my price range unless I get lucky and snag on on the sales page. The S&B seems to check all the boxes but I do know that at 1x, the reticle sucks.....but, if I have the RMR.....you get it.

Other Brands? Elcan perhaps but it only has up to 6 power; is there a big enough difference between 6-8 for me to warrant exclusion?

I'm not a fan of Vortex; no reason really so don't ask, can't explain it really.

Any advice appreciated on the above optics or others that might fit the bill.

Factory .223

I have a bergara hmr in 6.5cm.
I shoot maybe a match a year, other than that just having fun when I get a chance to get out.

with the scarcity of 6.5 and my PILE of .223 I already have and it's availability I'm looking at getting a .223 bolt gun.

I am indeed a poor so a custom gun is out.
Was thinking either a howa or a Tika. Possibly somthing that I could drop in a chasis if I find a deal on one.

I'm also a lefty. Hoping the collective can give me some options.

Budget is gonna be sub 800.

Fieldcraft Krieger_tactics: Long Range Marksmanship - Part 1

My call sign is Krieger. I am a former Special Forces Soldier (7th Special Forces Group, Ft. Bragg, NC), former security contractor, and current Unconventional Asset Recovery Agent.

I have been fortunate enough to have attended multiple long range precision marksmanship courses and to have deployed numerous times as both a military sniper and as a Designated Defensive Marksman.

This past week I had the opportunity to work with two individuals who had rifles long range precision rifles that they wanted to zero.

Before we went to the range we discussed some of the concepts and aspects that affect long range precision marksmanship.

Some of those concepts and aspects are:

Range, Wind speed, Wind direction, Barometric pressure, Humidity, Temperature, Altitude, Shooter to target altitude deviation, Location of the sun, Bullet weight and construction, Measurement of MILs and MOA, Converting MIL to MOA (and vice versa), Affects and importance of cold barrel registration, Affects and importance of clean cold barrel registration, the zeroing process, and slipping of rings, etc.

We then went to the range.

7-YARD LINE
My zeroing method may be a little unconventional when compared to the methods used by some, especially with regards to utilizing a long range precision marksmanship rifle, but I think that it is very efficient and effective. That is why I am sharing it in this forum.

Whether I am shooting a pistol, AR style rifle, or even a "long-gun" as some in the tactical world refer to long range precision rifles, I have the exact same first few rounds process.

No matter what weapon system I'm utilizing I start at the 7 yard line and it is from this distance that I fire the first round.

I utilize this approach due to my personal experience and the experience of others that if the deviation of your sighting system is great enough, and the range at which you fire your first few rounds is far enough...

You will not hit the target, nor even the backer at all, and you will not have an initial reference impact from which you are able to make adjustments.

Some may say that’s not possible. It is. It's happened in my presence. In fact this is exactly what had occurred with the first of the two shooters some months ago. He purchased a new rifle, put a scope on it, went to the range and fired it at 100 yards and completely missed the target and backer. Neither he, nor those he was with were ever able to see his hits on the target because he completely missed. When he explained what he had experienced to me I had a very good idea what happened. I explained it to him. I don't think he didn’t quite believe me.

From the 7-yard line, I verified that the scope was placed on the rifle appropriately, and from a kneeling position at I fired one single shot. From 7 yards the shot was extremely low and far to the right. At 100 yards it would have been far enough off of center that it would not have impacted the target backer. We would not therefore, have been able to know from what point to begin making corrections. The shooter was able to see that if this same rifle had been fired from the 100-yard line that the likelihood of missing the target backer completely was very high.

I made a few elevation and windage adjustments, fired and then hit center mass.

Now that the shooter could see that the rifle did have the capability to hit center mass (albeit at 7 yards) he had a new-found confidence in his rifle and scope. I passed the rifle off to the shooter, who then fired it from supported prone and hit off center (high and to the left). We then made adjustments to get him on center and then moved to the 50 yard line, where we repeated the process and then the 100 yard line. At the 100 yard line the shooter was able to group less than 1 MOA and just slightly left of center. This left deviation is attributable to a certain few (correctable) aspects. I’ll address those later.

TAKE AWAY
For now, I’ll share this take-away from my initial shooting (zeroing) process. You can always start the zeroing process at 25, 50 or even the 100-yard line. You will most likely do fine. I would just note that I’ve seen the best of shooters miss during the zeroing process at each of those yard lines. I always start at 7 yards. I’ve never missed an entire backer at the 7 yard line and I always know exactly and immediately where I’ve hit. This process saves me (and those who are with me) both time and rounds utilized.

Leveling Kit Suggestions?

Here is one for all you truck enthusiasts. Just picked up a brand new F150, it is a fairly nice pickup. One thing I hate about the newer trucks is they are starting to look like cars. This one I got sits really "low" and just kind of looks weird.

Any suggestions on a leveling kit for it to make it set just a little higher?

Are there any performance increases, or decreases?

Is there a ride difference if I go with a Fox Coilover system vs a "spacer" type system?

Newbie questions: short brass length and die issues

So I started reloading about a year ago, my first cartridge was 6.5 creedmoor and so far it has been a breeze. About 4 months I put together a 6 creedmoor rifle (tenacity action and proof 26” SS barrel) and started with that, I have a couple loads worked up that shoot great but I have been having issues with my brass and dies.

Am using Lapua SRP and Forster full size non bushing die at this point brass has been fired 6x and I anneal after every firing. First issue is I noticed that brass is really short at the neck, am bumping the standard 2 thou but my brass length as of now is 1.884 after sizing a bit shorter before, I don’t understand why. I measured the rest of the brass still new in the box and they average 1.912. I have never trimmed this brass.

This brings us to issue number two, the sizing die. I use whidden dies for my 6.5 cm and those things are awesome in comparison the Forster sizing die feels really tight (not really impressed with the micrometer seating die either) I started to notice that after I sized there’s a lot of brass shaving on the necks of my brass and inside the die, almost as if theres sharp edges cutting into the necks. I am using RCBS lube every time on a rock chucker press.

Am starting to think that maybe those brass shaving are coming from the top of the neck and that’s why it’s short? Am quite new to this game so any advice from more experienced reloader is appreciated.

Preferred setup on 308/6.5CM large frame?

How does everyone like their large frames setup (i.e. role/optic/barrel length/profile) and what do you think makes the most sense? Lets say you could have one or two large frames rather than a bunch setup in specific ways.

I tried the lightweight battle rifle type setup with a lpvo a lot of people seem to be doing lately but pretty much came to the conclusion that for anything within the range of 5.56 the weight, cost, recoil, and noise outweigh the positives. I'm now going the 20" medium-heavy barrel route with a 2-10 to take advantage of the range the cartridge offers, that is the biggest benefit over 5.56 after all. It's going to be a pig but even my "lightweight" build was heavy with a mag and optics, so oh well.
