About 60 years ago I read a sci-fi short-story. A spaceship lands, a single being emerges and its intelligence is so far beyond human that within days he(?) is ruling the world. Short-story synopsis: Sometime later another spaceship lands, two beings come and take the first alien away apologizing to the people of earth. Seems the first had escaped a mental ward and stole the spaceship.

I'd like to know what muzzle velocities are actually being achieved with optimum handloads (most accurate) tipped with Hornady 103-gr ELD-X bullets when fired from a 6mm ARC gas gun with either an 18" or 20" barrel? Also, what kind of powder is being used with those handloads to attain the reported muzzle velocities?
