Atheism is just another (godless) religion.
I'll respectfully disagree. The "radical Atheist" community is one that says "I won't live in a world with religion and will spend all my time destroying it... because I am opposed to it." That is a religious dogma. And the radical atheist is advocating BS religious Dogma... while pretending to be.. not religious.
There is also an atheist community that says "I don't subscribe to a diety, but I understand and appreciate the value of belief, even if it it is not how I want to view the world. . AND I recogize that belief and theism is actually a positive force on the human race and is part of one of the critical organizing principles of civilization."
Atheism is NOT opposed to religion. It simply asserts that there not need be a single divine being behind creation. It does not have to oppose the value of religious (especially Judeo-Christian) principles in the formation of advanced Western Civilizations.
The Ten Commandments are not religious dogma. They are the fundamental organizing ideas that have created a civilization that have put men on the Moon, cured many diseases, liberated continents, raised the standard of living, increased the median lifespan, harnessed the atom, created the Internet and, by extension, Snipers Hide ... and thousands of other things from the Mona Lisa to the Lamborghine Countach....
One does not have to be a believer to recognize that it was mostly belivers did this. And it was good. Even if we think it was Physics that got us there... not Banging on gongs and waving Incense. Not that there is anything wrong with that. But not don't have to subscribe to it to support its existence
