Slight positional changes can cause issues

I apparently have high cheek bones. I have almost every cheek piece close to the top with regular height rings. My old TRG I had to make an extra spacer and longer bolt.

There's no practical difference. Either mcmillan glues them in or your gunsmith will. Pillar length will be determined by the bottom cut you choose.

Are you asking where to place it? (how far in front?) or something else?

I use my RH25 in a Wilcox FTS and place it as close as I can in front of my Razor 1-10. I've been using it on my 13.5 308 MWS and out to 400yd on deer and pigs.

New barrel that I bought a few years ago and never used for the Accuracy International AI AX/AX308.

I have two more. One has about 100 rounds on it, and the other is one, but the protective shipping netting seems to have deteriorated onto the barrel. Of course, I can be cleaned off. I can add the barrel with 100 rounds it for $250 and the other new one for $275.

Then if the ugly black ring you see below is formed in that area where the case neck sits, it decreases the clearance, because the case neck would sit on top of the carbon ring crud.
