Street prices on used Impact 4000s are close to $1000, maybe $1100, on the PX. So this would need to be significantly under that to catch my attention. Vortex has a rock solid reputation of taking care of their clients and a unit that pulls environmental data.
If it does, then I agree here it would be great on a gun with dope written down, like a Mk12 or gas gun. Not sure ai want to deal with linking to a Kestrel.
Now if they can add in a VCSEL IR to the unit like a kiji 3 with an adjustable and/or focusable head, then I would be very excited.

The jury is still out as we are still waiting to get our pre-orders and will definitely update when those land, but the way Doc explained it on the other thread, you don't need to pair to Kestrel/App unless you want to constantly update atmospheric data, which i keep mine locked on the Kestrel anyways and update manually as needed.
AB and smaller size will come at a slight premium over the Vortex, I think that part makes sense to me.
As far as the VCSEL, am i the only one who thinks the VCSEL units fall short of FP focusable laser illum at 500yds plus? Either way, yes, IR illum on board would take it over the top for clipon use 100%.
