This. I would check the headspace (maybe just a bit too much?) and replace that firing pin and the spring. What brand/model of action is this firing pin out of?
It looks like shit.
Somebody molested the hell out of it at some point after manufacturing (. . . .unless Tactical Rifles.net started back up and is making actions now.)

After looking at this altered part, I would question any of the other work to the point I would double check everything else about the barreled action.
What brand/model of action is this firing pin out of?Hi guys, I'm looking for some opinions on this firing pin. Without going into too much detail I just want to know if you think that the obvious asymmetry (zoom in) is something that could cause issues with light strikes. I feel like it's dragging and binding on the bolt body. I'm getting way too many clicks and with 3 different primers.
That's the million dollar question I cannot answer. So, what am I doing right that this barrel has survived 10-12 cleanings with Thorroclean? Not only survived, but still shooting bug holes. That is what I'd like to identify and possibly separate from the one & done toast jobs.
99% bolt. I’d love to say 100% but I can’t guarantee a piece from a gas gun fidnt get in there somehow. I will add some extra pieces. What platform was this fired from, gas or bolt?
Townsend Whelen…Same here. I occasionally shoot my Norinco and. My Krink. But the rest are wall hangers.
Fun, but unless engaged in a guerrilla conflict… just range blasters.
Was it Jack O’Conner who said “Only accurate rifles interest me?” Thats why we live here on SH not ARFcom.
