7-6.5 PRC

I understand that Berger 180s are the go to bullets for 7PRCW. However Hornady ELDM 180s and ATIP 190s have superb BC-s and should be as good or even better? Even if the ELDM 180 might not be as consistent as the Berger 180, ATIP-s should be top of the line and just as good if not better in consistency? Has anyone done extensive side by side comparisons?

Why is the Berger 180s "the" bullet choice for 7PRCW? Or have I misread the forums.
Just because!

Cost wise... the Bergers out to a 1k yards vs the ATIP's I can understand that but the ATIP's at extended ranges will have better flight characteristics from the data I've seen.

If you all go back to the data I posted when it was all said and done... the Bergers didn't out shoot the ATIP's or the 183SMK bullets and vice versa. I wouldn't post group sizes because the test was more about pressures and velocities and if I posted group sizes people would start to draw conclusions and say oh... this bullet is bad etc...

It wasn't an accuracy test although that data was collected. All the groups fired where 10 shot groups with all the handloads I provided.

Is the March FX 4.5-28x52 my new ZCO?

Of course this is a somewhat rhetorical question, but there is an ounce of query in there. You see, I just picked up a new March FX 4.5-28x52 on sale from Eurooptic. If you have ever looked into this brand you will note that it is generally very expensive, and the premium is interesting considering most Japanese scopes, OEM, or otherwise are in general more affordable when compared to a ZCO, Tangent, or SnB. However from all I can tell this model is absolutely on par with any one of those brands, and it's understandable now why it commands a premium. Now, I have not had time yet to take it out to distance and see how it tracks but I can tell you that from every thing I can see it compares very well against a ZCO or an SNB, and even my old TT and Premier. This honestly feels like the most refined optic I have ever owned, and I have owned about every top tier brand besides a ZCO, now I feel I don't need a ZCO frankly. With the 4.5-28x52 the glass is stunning in clarity, pop, color, and resolution. The wide angle eyepiece offers a very wide field of view, more so than any of my other tactical scopes. Optically it's very impressive considering it's compact size, the glass is very reminiscent of a PM2 in color temperature. At the upper range the eyebox seems a little tight but otherwise 25x and lower it's fine. The turrets are very audible and positive, the zero stop is an eloquent design and easy to set. All of the controls are smooth and offer excellent feedback and lockup. The engravings even look premium and perfect. Though I will not take it out to distance until next week the reticle is excellent, it's not to thick, nor to thin at any mag, it's laser sharp, and all the markings are exactly where they should be, as a matter of fact the reticle was designed by our resident Dark Lord Of Optics, and i'll say great job Mr. Koshkin! Though March has been around for a while it's nice to see them coming out with something so premium. I think the other top tier European brands need a good Japanese competitor. I truly appreciate Japanese excellence, refinement, and attention to detail and the March FX 4.5-28x52 is a great example of Japanese perfectionism, in fact I am so impressed I may have to pick up another March should the need arise.

After I take this the distance I will report further on the scopes performance.

If you want a further review and way more detail on this optic I highly recommend Glassaholics extensive review and comparo against the Canada's main battleship the Tangent Theta.

On balance, this is probably my favourite scope from the March line-up, although I am quite partial to the new shuriken turrets. I have those on the 1.5-15x42 and I am quite impressed.

Who exactly are you referring to here? Mercenaries/contractors? Again, I don't know of a single professional organization that has a requirement for every conceivable ammunition. Most (all?) have a very narrow ammunition selection.

Is this one of those gay discussion from LF or M4C where some tard stomps his foot and types in all caps "STAY IN YOUR LANE"?
I mean, if anything, “military experience translated to private life” would dictate to stock up with as much of a very small list of ammunition as possible. Ain’t no professional planning to run around and scrounge for ammo caches.

Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

You're the king until one of those plastic AT mines rolls up the furrow your flail's plowing in the sand to slip back down under your tracks. Seen a crew get waylaid doing that no more than 10 yds into the minefields back in '91.
Were they in an amtrak? Might've been me! I was in a trak that hit 2 mines. The first one must've just knicked the edge and blew our skirt up, then when we started going again, it seems like we only went about 20 ft. and hit the second one. That one blew off the track and most of the wheels. No one seriously hurt, but felt like all my guts were busted and knocked the wind out of us..... but we were following am M1A1 with a mine plow.

M118LR Projectiles

The M118LR has a sordid history with both the SMK and with the Military 173. See the following:

In the 08 time frame it could be that it is Mk 316 Nod 0. Check the package. IF it says M118LR "Special Ball " it is the 175SMK with IMR 4064.
