So the balance point is the same between the LRI-20 24" and the SP10 22" Bartlein barrel, both barrel have the exact same Contours.

As for velocity, it's a 28-FPS gain on the JP
Both riflesshpot the same load of 40.4grs H4350/ Lapua SRP Brass / 140 ELD / CCI BR4 primers.

Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

Dude, this photo is one from my buddy Eric (Nohair). He made this as a joke like 12+ years ago when everyone was debating over keymod vs M-lok. I believe he called it R-lok based on Rivetier shelving :) He was an absolute jokester. What's even funnier is Geissele saw his post and sent him one of his modular handguard. That crazy how it is still surfacing...

Sadly Eric passed away in 2017 at the age of 45.

JP LRI-20/LRP-07 with longer barrel

Pictures like those are dangerous… 😂

Yes they are.

I know I'd be perfectly happy and would save a bunch of money just rebarreling my current older LRP07 uppers, but the new LRI uppers are nice and make the barrel nut and handguard installation easier, not to mention the supposed stiffness gains.

Wonder if JP would sell me bare LRI20 uppers and not have to buy complete upper assemblies. I know they're helpful and can often handle requests for stuff not on the website if you call them, as one of my LRP07s is setup with a light contour 20" 6.5CM barrel for hunting use-- that was a non-standard barrel contour they made for me.

If anyone else is checking out parts on the JP Rifles page…

Code: RickyBobby24 will save you 10% on parts at JP Rifles.

Any other questions about JP products, please let me know.

Cool, thanks.

Just noticed JP has a few "limited run" cut rifled barrels available right now; 6cm heavy contour 24" with a +3 gas system, 6cm 22" medium contour with +3 gas system, and 6.5cm 22" medium contour with +2" gas system.

Whenever I get around to rebarreling my 2x LRP07s I need to decide if I want to stick with my current uppers or get the new semi-monolithic uppers, and if I want to stick with JP barrels or maybe go with Bartlein from Craddock.

I have 2x SCR11s and 2x LRP07s and all 4 of them are very accurate and easy cleaning with the factory JP barrels, but there's a lot more options for barrel lengths, gas port lengths, and contours from someone like Craddock. I have zero accuracy complaints with either of my LRP07's right now other than the rifle length gas ports are hard on brass regardless of buffer weight or spring rate combo even after trying multiple powders. Wish JP was making their barrels with +2" gas ports when I bought them, but 8 years ago when I ordered them 6 & 6.5 CM AR's were still kind of new and everyone was still figuring them out and using large firing pins and rifle length gas systems. My 6.5CM GAP10 that I had just before the JPs pierced primers like crazy with factory 140 Amax ammo because the early 6.5CM GAP10s used large firing pin bolts, and after a piece of primer stuck the firing pin and it ran away full auto slam firing it went back to GAP twice, and the second trip back they switched it over to an Armalite bolt and extension because the Armalite bolt used a small firing pin. GAP started using SFP bolts on new 6cm/6.5cm GAP10s going forward, and around the same time JP started selling their small firing pin "high pressure" bolts. My first LRP07 came with a large firing pin bolt but I switched it to a small firing pin high pressure bolt as soon as JP started selling them.

Don't post crap like that, you're going to make me spend money on 2x new LRI semi-mono uppers that I'm still not convinced are really needed over my current uppers, but look really cool. :ROFLMAO:

Very disappointed

No, Hornady made the comment as just something they had sometimes observed, I’m not even sure if they make a crimp die.

I was speculating on it being due to more consistent ignition possibly. And frankly given most all my experience has been with semi auto weapons, the idea of not crimping didn’t give me a warm and fuzzy feeling.
It takes a special kind of dumb to ignore the advice you've been given here. I pegged you as one of those from the start. That's why I don't bother with constructive advice.

Especially when I hear of top shooters focusing on neck tension a lot, not to be confused with interference fitment. Listened to hours of those discussions.
Despite what you heard in those discussions neck tension IS an interference fit. If it weren't the bullet would drop into the case on its own. Any time the OD of a part is greater than the ID of a hole it fits into you have an interference fit.

Very disappointed

That's sorta what I'm saying. just because we have better stuff now doesn't make an invisible barrier pop up at 800 yards. But in our black and white world "better" means "only choice" and "worse" means "absolute dogshit"

I have a lot of trouble convincing my charges of this. They are fighting for a accuracy (data science, not shooting) in the 3rd decimal point. Does it matter? I can match their answer in 1/10th the time to two decimal points. A good answer fast beats the best answer slow. But we are so focused on squeezing out the "best". Frank talks a lot about all the guys trying to find perfect loads so much they miss shooting sessions. Like find a load and go shoot. And I am a perenial analysis paralysis person. At those distances (1k), consistency and wind reading... And I'll be honest, I doubt it makes a difference whether I shot 155s, 175s, 185s, or 200s at 1000. Bullet ain't the limitation.

Yet.

They are when they go funky through transonic and don’t groups well. There are a lot of better choices now than a 168 smk and by better I mean better. Better BCs so they aren’t pushed off target as easily and better designs so they go transonic as accurately as when supersonic. That 168 smk bullet had a bad boat tail design for long range. It’s a fact. That it can shoot fine at 600 is great but doesn’t change that fact.

I don’t work loads up to the third decimal point or burn out barrels trying to find “the load” but I do know what to send down there and why and I don’t think I have sent a 168 smk down range in around 25 years.

Sheriff shoots judge... Can't wait for the back story?

Well he rid the world of a lawyer so that's a plus

Otherwise he's a piece of shit, small town corruption run amok

I was watching an interview with the sheriff's lawyer and he said something like "the sheriff was in fear for his life because of what he knew, there are dangerous people involved, other people I can't tell you about, dangerous people, he was worried that he said the wrong things during his deposition" so he shot the judge

Which sounds a lot like "my client is guilty as all hell, I don't know what to say, so I'll make up nonsense"
He should threaten to release the kraken.
