The Justice Department today announced it has submitted to the Federal Register the “Engaged in the Business” Final Rule, which makes clear the circumstances in which a person is “engaged in the business” of dealing in firearms and thus required to obtain a federal firearms license, in order to increase compliance with the federal background check requirement for firearm sales by federal firearms licensees.
“Under this regulation, it will not matter if guns are sold on the internet, at a gun show, or at a brick-and-mortar store: if you sell guns predominantly to earn a profit, you must be licensed, and you must conduct background checks,” said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. “This regulation is a historic step in the Justice Department’s fight against gun violence. It will save lives.”

Lately my wife showed increasing interest to spend more time with me at the range. In the past I only taken her to shoot pistols and practice home defence type of shooting. Her newly gained interest drove me to put a little rifle together for her so she could try something light recoiling before eventually growing into a 6.5 or 308. I settled on a Proof MTR 223 with a Nightforce 4x16 and a TBac bipod on a JP Arca rail. I velcro'd a little cheek rest on the stock to make it fit better and off we went. Ammo used was 75 grain Hornady.

I worked with her on the basic fundamentals; Square behind the rifle, using a rear bag, trigger pull and follow through as well as manipulating the bolt and scope while staying on the rifle and in the scope. I had her shoot steel at 200, 300, 400 and 500 yards. After an hour or so I figured I'd give her some room and let her continue by herself. I put some splash targets up and told her to try to shoot some groups at 100 yards and turned around to get my rifle out. A few min later she asks:" how many do I shoot in a group". "try 5" I replied. " i might have done 7 or 8, is that bad?" she says. I turned around to look and saw what she did. Pictures attached.

A little later she is shooting my 6.5 and tells me she likes that one better....

My question today is about Powder pill and brass costs.
is too late for me to take a drive an snatch up some power brass etc ?
Im only slack on supplies for the 338 lapua 60 rnds and 30.06 120 rnds.
My main concern is powder. Im not sure we make or have all of the components to manufacture it here in the states.

Ok, so I just picked up a Leofoto LS-364C from another member, and I’m planning to run an Anvil 30 on it, with a detachable panning table clamped into that for grid glassing. I know it’s not as optimal as a pan/tilt head for that purpose, but I believe it’ll be a good compromise between glassing consistency and shootability (hope to use it for both hunting and competition, likely more the former than the latter). I like the low-profile apex of the tripod as is, so I don’t want to use something that’ll space out the top of the legs.

My questions (for now, I guess) are:

- Does anyone know of Anvil 30’s in stock anywhere?

- What is the recommended way to get the Anvil 30 mounted to this tripod? I’ve done a lot of searching and for whatever reason can’t seem to find this specific question answered anywhere, although I’m sure it has been.

- Any recommendations on cheap but acceptable panning tables that clamp onto a 1.5” rail top and bottom? This is only for spotting, so it need not hold solid lockup with the Titanic atop it, and $225 just seems a little steep (the RRS offering).

- I’m gonna mount up a Henderson ultralight rail on the forend of a Bergara B14 HMR, but I’m not gonna be able to lay hands on it for a few days and would prefer to order soon to get it to a gunsmith. Would anyone who’s got one be willing to give me the measurement in inches from the front of the mag well to the forend tip? Wanna buy a rail that won’t hang off the end or need to be cut to prevent that.

I run a LE Wilson expander die for 6GT. The only size the mandrel comes in, from Wilson is .242. I want to try a couple different tensions, but they don't make variable sizes. Anybody know who make different sizes that would work with the Wilson die body without switching to a new body?
