I'm fairly new to reloading as I am just starting with PRS over this past summer.


I've noticed a few times that I have trouble chambering brass that I reload, and have narrowed this issue down to brass that was once fired from a different rifle.

A coworker recently gave me a bunch of SRP brass that has these strange lines on the shoulder - He fired them out of his mossberg patriot. I tried sizing one and chambering it in my rifle (savage axis precision) and it will not chamber. In fact, it locks the bolt up pretty bad, resulting in the need to smack it open with a mallet.

The brass hangs up on the midsection i believe, as is evident from the scratches on the case.


IF this sounds like a logical explanation, are there any sets of dies I can buy that will resolve this issue and squish the sides closer to the base back to factory? I am currently using Hornady Custome Grade dies on a lyman american 8 press.

As the title states, I think I have damaged my AGM Varmint LRF ts50-384.. I accidentally left the scope with the lens cover open on my work bench in the garage the other day and it sat facing east towards the window of the garage.. The scope was powered down but it seems to be burnt by the sun shining through the window. To make a long story short, I took it out last night and now I can’t barely see over 100 yards with the optic.. Before I could easily see well over 1000 meters. Has anyone shared this experience? Am I screwed? Should I try to file a warranty claim on it, or not even waste my time? Any suggestions? I know, it was a stupid mistake..

There is lots of info/reviews out for the Bushnell 15x56 Match Pro binos but very little for the Athlon Midas 12x50 binos.
Seems like the Athlon binos are relatively new but there is basically no info out there from real life users.

Any one have experience with the Athlons, or better yet compared the two?

To be honest I would probably just buy the Bushnell as I think the extra magnification would be nice and I’m picking they’ll have better glass.
But I can’t buy them locally and I can’t see any retailers in the US that’ll ship internationally.

Anyone have tips on how to remove the decapping rod from the SAC modular sizing die? Once I unscrew the top cap from the die body I can't seem to figure out how to remove the decapping rod to disassemble the rest of the parts.

Hello everyone. Brand new to WMLRF,
I’m looking at the vortex and new tango wmlrf’s and am just curious why I don’t see them side mounted anywhere. I run a Seeking SP10M in 6.5 and Seekins told me the rail is rigid enough for it, also contacted vortex about zeroing the system from a side mount. They said it was no problem as long as the rail was stiff enough.

I love running a 12 oclock red dot over my optic (March 4.5-28). So in theory, if I zeroed the red dot at 100 yards and the wmlrf, i would never have to dial back to zero between shots before ranging. Could simply put my red dot on target and tap my range button. Am I missing something. Please educate me.

So I look for this topic in Hunting and Fishing and did not see anything. I have four 223 candidates for this to load. 64gr soft point, 62gr TBBC, 55 and 60gr orange tip. Longest possible shot is 200 yds and likely closer to 100-125 yds. An AR-15 is what I will be using. I have to admit that even though I read about those plastic tip wonders I am concerned about tips breaking off and causing problems.

Looking for some insight. Currently running a USO B17 with H102 reticle. Know I’ll catch some hate but love the optic and reticle. Works perfectly for my primary mission of killing animals out to 600m.
Usually kill 75+ pigs a year, a few deer, and an elk. Ranges from 50m to 600m.
However. Glass quality is lacking. Tried to shoot a pig (BIG FUCKER) at 750m at last light and had a lot of trouble picking it up in the scope. This is my primary weapon, a 6.5cm AR that puts meat on the table. I also enjoy shooting steel out to 800m on a regular basis with it as I build my wind reading skills.
Traded in some shit I wasn’t using and have a preferred budget of around $2500.
Want to keep the USO to gift to one of my sons, so can’t trade in.
Missed out on a used Kahles 525i that would have been perfect at my LGS.
As I’ve gotten older would like a little more magnification, so thinking at least 5-25 range.
Weight is a consideration. Could have gotten a great deal on a gen3 6-36 vortex razor, but it’s a heavy pig, and think the 6x low end will be too high. Also reticle is too thin on edges.
Needs a tree reticle. Prefer center dot.
Considerations:
Kahles dlr 525i at top of list but over budget. Yes can wait and save more, but looking for options I might be missing. If glass quality is that much better I’ll save and wait.
Zeiss LRP S3 4-25 currently at top of list.
Leupy Mk5hd 5-25. Love the weight. Son has 3-18 but don’t think glass is any better than current USO.
Also currently running 34mm rings and would prefer not to change if don’t need to.
Can get veteran pricing. Sons can get active duty pricing but trying to go through LGS to use store credit.
