My 6.5 SP10M 22” came in recently and I’m really having a hard time picking glass for it. I do any and all types of long range shooting at my family ranch. We stretch out to 1 mile occasionally but typically shoot 1400 and in. A 7-35 ATACR seems like an easy choice but it is quite heavy and lacking bottom end for the coyote hunting we regularly do at the ranch.

I beat the crap out of guns/optics and need something strong, not too heavy, good fov at bottom end and a reticle that works at the lower end.

My top picks currently are
Burris XTR 3 5.5-30 (reticle super thin)
Mk5 5-25 (I worry about tracking, rigidity)
NX8 2.5-20 (wide fov but reticle is useless at bottom end)
NX8 4-30 (enough elevation for my mile shooting?)
Atacr 4-20 and 5-25 and 7-35 (heavy for already heavy rifle)

Please help me stop tormenting myself over this choice.

Note: 12 oclock red dot will be mounted above optic likely in a badger comm max

I bought this from a Remington collector who was downsizing for the action. He told me it was unfired and that appears to be the case. I want to build a 7PRC with this action so have no use for the barrel or stock. Including a photo of the bolt face for reference. I did a bit of research and it looks like a fair price would be $225 for barrel and stock TYD. If you dont want the stock I'll just trash it, it might be good for a cheap hunting rig but thats about it. Open to offers but that seems reasonable. It may take a couple days to have it removed. Can take mor photos.

Anybody who has both of these to play with can give me a verdict on GLASS ONLY?

I know the dials on the Athlon has got to be better than the DNT, but I'm only looking at the glass quality on this purchase.

I work hard for this money and it makes feel warm and fuzzy when I look through the eyepiece and see a picture that moves me to tears. Is the DNT close enough to the Athlon that I won't be able to tell a difference between them on mach 1 eyeball?

I sold the barreled action that was in this stock so now I am selling the stock.

Is needing a factory stocked and barrel B14R worth the effort? Has anyone done it?

My older green mountain barreled 10/22 shoots better than the Bergera. CCI green tags are a solid 1 MOA in the 10/22. The B14R can be all over the place at 50 and 100. Think I want to bed before considering a barrel. Also wondering if a better stock would make it worth it. Enjoy toying with things to make them shoot.

So I made a snafu and had two barrels chambered for an Impact 787 when I actually had a 777. Trying to find a 787 with a magnum bolt proved to be extremely difficult, until I talked with Altus. 15 minutes later and one phone call later, they were able to secure an action and I had it about a week later.

Trying to find two new 7mm blanks wasn’t the smartest idea once we decided we wanted to try the NF Steel Challenge next year. A call to Custom Rifle Barrels and they had two barrels sent to the smith. @StraightJacketArmory constantly comes in clutch and had these to me in no time. They have become my go to.

I wanted to start this thread because we always read about long wait times, out of stock items, and bad service. Making a friendly phone call or two to some of the vendors that support our sport proved to help me remedy a situation that I created for myself. Now, any tips for the NF Challenge send them my way!
