Best Hub Adapter/Brake setup for Suppressor

I am looking to purchase a couple more suppressors and I am considering the purchase of the 1.375” hub mount versions. If given the option, which hub/muzzle brake interface do you recommend. I will be using them on a large frame AR, small frame AR and potentially a bolt action.

I see the silencerco, griffin and deadair systems but I am not sure what else is out there.

Any recommendations?

hi from Colorado Springs

Hello from the Colorado Springs area! I've been a longtime lurker here and finally got an account setup, with my brother getting my into long range! I finally pulled the reloading gear back out after it sat boxed up for way too many years.

Current setups for longer range shooting:
Bergara HMR Carbon Wilderness in 6.5cm
Steiner T6Xi 5-30x56
APF 30cal Ti Suppressor
bipod - looking (was using one of my brothers ckye-pods)

6x45 AR - self built
18" barrel w/SA adjustable gas block
Vortex Venom 3-15x44

Remington Model 7 in 300 SAUM
Nikon scope
sub 7lbs - elk gun

I got my 6.5 setup this past weekend and with a good spotter/tools we had it shooting 1200 yards in the first dozen shots - always fun to get some distance! Looking forward to the rattlesnake butte shoot in April 2025!

Do I need more than 20MOA elevation with common scopes at 1 mile on 6.5PRC

Hi all -

I found one thread similar on this topic, but I had trouble understanding some of the conversation. I just purchased a Savage 110 Elite Precision 6.5CM and I plan to swap the barrel and bolt face to shoot 6.5 PRC instead. My goal is to be able to shoot 1 mile.

I want to purchase a scope with a budget under $1000. I've been reading about how some of these smaller calibers may require additional "elevation" for the scope, in order to make enough adjustment at that distance, with a 6.5 PRC cartridge.

The gun appears to have a bolt-on 20MOA picatinny rail. I looked around and I didn't find a lot for replacement rails, except a Murphy Precision rail that is pretty pricey by itself. I also know I can get some adjustability on the scope mount. I'm looking at the ARC M-Mount scope mount. It looks like those can be purchased with some additional elevation built in too.

My question is...how can I get some 6.5 PRC data to help me determine if I need more than the 20MOA in the built in rail, along with the adjustability the scope already has?

Some of the scopes I'm looking at say they have 20mil of elevation adjustment, some say 25mil, some say up to 30mil.

What is the best way for me to choose the best scope and mount to work with my existing 20MOA rail?

Thanks for any insight you can offer!

One-Mile Success

I live in the Charleston SC area and had been developing my capability to shoot One-Mile. However, in order to do that, I had to find a place where i can actually shoot One-Mile.

I found the "One-Mile Club" website and in reading the testimonials there, I learned that there was a place in Clinton SC (The Clinton House) with a one-mile range. They open up the one-mile range once each month to non-members.

Yesterday was the day...

On May 14th, I took my 6.5 Creedmore and showed up at the range at 8:30am. By 9:30am, myself and about 6 others were on the line. They had two one-mile targets one that was about 36"x48" (i think) and one that was just an 18" round plate dubbed the MOA target/challenge for one-mile.

Having never shot my gun further than 800 yards, i wasn't overly confident in my shooting solution out to one-mile. I just trusted my kestrel and put 78.9 MOA on the scope and held right windage at about 2.5MOA. First shot didnt count as it was just for cold bore. On the first shot for record, i could see my hits low and left. I adjusted my holdover and by the third shot I found my sweet spot and was able to not only hit but hit consistently.

Next, I focused my attention on the MOA Challenge (18" round steel) and again, by the third shot, I was able to connect.

A BIG CALL OUT to Mike Sexton (CWO USMC Ret) who was coaching us. He was awesome to work with, provided great insights and advice. THANKS MIKE if you are listening. YOU ROCK!!

Also a Big Call-Out to "The Clinton House" for making this all possible.
