So working on a load for my AR10 308 and I am using virgin starline brass, varget, and 175 smk with COAL of 2.810. I loaded 5 of each charge weight starting at 43grn increasing 0.3 grn at a time up to 44.5 grn. I was hoping to be 2600+fps when I found a load but my 43grn load avg just over 2500 and had an ES of 7 fps and SD of 3. Now I could deal with the slower velocity if it shot well but it shot about a 2" group at 100. Now being an AR I don't have a ton of room to play with seating depth to get it to tighten up but I will spend the time and resources doing so if someone smarter than me thinks it's worth my time and money to explore. Otherwise I'm tempted to keep creeping up charge weight until the stars align and I get the velocity I was after and a good grouping. Factory m118lr shoots just over 2600 and groups around .75-1.00 out of this rifle, and at 44.5 I am just under 2600 fps and no real pressure signs. I will go higher am just leery because 45 seems like a real hot charge out of a gas gun. Maybe I'm just being a chicken too.

A couple months ago, I ordered 2 grips from @Tyler Kemp at MK Machining. One Recce Crossover Grip and one Beavertail Crossover Grip. The ergonomics and texturing are spot on. I had one...opportunity, to use the corporate term.

I felt like the top of the grip on both needed just a little more girth. Like, maybe a 1/4 to 1/3rd of an inch.

Tyler asked me for an email with more details for what I'm requesting, which he dubbed, the BCG: Beefier Crossover Grip.

Here's the problem. I'm neither an engineer nor a professional (or even particularly good) shooter. I'm just a hobbyist.

You all, however...

For a bit of context, both of these replaced LaRue APegs for almost entirely aesthetic purposes. My gun-tism is that bad.

So, has anyone else here at the Hide ordered one of the "Crossover Grip" series from MK Machining (or any of the ones oem-ed by them) and thought "this is awesome, I just wish there was a bit more girth up top? (don't make them move this thread to the Bear Pit)

Anyone have any experience with 25 creed using Hornady 134 eld bullets? I have 26" preferred barrel cut with 25 creed blackjack reamer. So far I have just ran a few loaded with N555 to get velocity and going to test more tomorrow. Also going to try a few others including h4350 and RL23.

If anyone has any experience with 134 elds let's hear it! Pic is of two I shot just to get idea of velocity 41gr N555, Peterson 6creed brass, 134 eld cbto 2.175

I purchased this without doing my research and due to some short fingers (thank you table saw) I had a hard time reaching the trigger. I installed the Apex trigger and striker then decided to send it off to PMM. I had them to go through it and make sure everything was good/functioning and clean anything inside as I felt the trigger was gritty... come to find out it is my nubby little trigger finger that side loads the trigger. I have not shot it since and went with something that fits my trigger finger a little better.

I shot 50 rounds through it, sent it to PMM (Parker Mountain Machine), and then shot less than 50 rounds through it after. I would say it has less than 200 rounds on it total.

Hey guys, i built this rifle years ago and its been just tucked away in the safe ever since. All parts are brand new. There has never been a round fired through either barrel, action, or chassis. The round count on everything is literally 0!! Here's a build list and breakdown of costs-

I am not having any luck with my Google skills finding an answer for this one. I am guessing that is probably because it is a fairly uncommon occurrence for these to come up for sale, and because there is just not a lot out of them out there. I am trying to find what an "average" or "realistic" price would be for a used Wilcox RAPTAR, and I was hoping that I could some feedback from everyone. This would be the civilian legal model. It would NOT be a "S" model with the onboard ballistics. It would be in good condition with no damage or significant wear & tear. Thanks in advance!

I ordered a foundation samson stock, american rifle cdg, and pva barrel all mid june, literally just got emails about the stock and barrel today so I called ARC, got to speak to Bella and apparently my action just got assembled too!
about 1.5 months for all of them.

Been out of the loop for a while. I have a CDG and wondering if any new hunting style mags have come out or coming out? Like a 5 round AW mag or similar?
Another thought I had is…. Could a Sako 90 mag work if a proper bottom metal was created? The Sako is also a 3 lug, when cycling the lug is in the 6’oclock position to pick up the round just like a CDG. Those are 5 round, double stack, steel, flush fit mags. Pretty sweet that would be

...and why.

I don't own one, but here's my thoughts / suspicions....

I like the idea of picking up a rifle that's ready to fire at the distance I sighted it in at. The switch barrel feature means re-adjusting the scope for zero whenever you change calibers.

And there's just no way a switch barrel system will hold its zero the way a fixed barrel rifle will.

Only having to buy one glass is nice, and the compactness is a definite selling point. The total cost for the chassis with two different barrels really isn't that much less than 2 rifles.

Its a neat gadget, but doesn't lend itself to the reason I buy a rifle - extreme, exacting repeatable accuracy on the spot.

I am considering trying some Hornady factory ammo utilizing their Superperformance powders in my Seekins SP10 in 6.5 CM. All of the Hornady factory ammo I have tried functions perfectly including 129 grain American Whitetail, 140 ELDM, 143 ELDX. For whitetail deer , the 120 CX and 129 SST using Superperformance powder looks compelling. I have read the powder burn rate using Superperformance powder in a gas gun can be challenging ? Will it cycle , feed, eject properly? The traditional powder factory ammo is fine but the velocity gains using Superperformance powders look impressive.

Have a McCann Industries long action MIRS rail (same as used on the M24 and Mk13 Mod 0 builds) that I would like to trade. It’s been field used and it shows.

Selling my grayboe Eagle Pro stock in GAP splash camo.
Haven't used it for more than a couple range trips, only bought it as a stop gap while I waited for my manners to be completed.
Has worked great so far. It comes with the 1913 rail up front for bipod usage. It does not come with bottom metal but is inlet for any M5 style bottom metal.
They say the barrel contour is for a proof sendero but honestly there seems to be enough space for something a little bit bigger but I haven't tested this theory, just my $.02

My first precision 22lr rifle was built by Ga Precision back in 2020. Had Mullerworks send them a 24” mtu blank in 1:12 twist. He was recommending 1:13 but i wanted 1:12. They got one done for me and sent to gap to be built on rimx action. Gap built full blown custom rifle that is a work of art. It never performed very well at 50 yards. Shoots most ammo between .3 and .4. Shoots around 1-1.25 at 100. But it out shoots all my other builds at distance. It shines at 250 and out. Just wonder if anyone else has shared same experience.

I've messed around with different case trimmers and really like the shoulder referenced setup. A Henderson trimmer costs an arm and a leg by the time you get it to Australia. I bought one of the Frankford Arsenal drill mounted cutters a while back and it worked great, it was just a bit fiddly with the plastic collets and washers and needed a separate chamfer tool. I was going to make a motor driven setup for the cutter and chamfer tools but then I saw the FA powered case trimmer for sale on Amazon for a good price and bought it. I made a few upgrades straight away. I machined the case holder setup to fit the "ugly trimmer" steel case specific pilots (that gets rid of the plastic collet and washer) and fitted a carbide cutter and inside chamfer tool to it. I've got pilots for pretty much everything I shoot and machined some blank ones for the oddball cases (6.5 SAUM and 223 Ackley).

I also designed and printed a chip catcher basket for it and replaced the little toolbox on top with a storage block for the pilots and different cutters. (The chip basket is on Thingiverse if anyone wants to print themself one).

This is actually a really good bit of gear now after a night's work machining bits and printing the parts. It's repeatable to within .001" or so and very quick.
