Budget thermal/NV

Looking at something to play around with and use as a general beater. Anyone have any experience with agm rattler v2 35-384 or a ATN X sight 5? I'd add a illuminator with the ATN X. Looking to use it on a 300blk bolt gun and a 22, shots all less then 150yds. I have a IR hunter 60mm and its just overkill for what I want to do and this gun will be a beater rig. Thanks for your opinions and advice.

Firearms WTS/T: Sako TRG22a1 - Tungsten Gray

Looking to sell my TRG22a1 in Tungsten Gray. It shoots well and feels great, I've just prefer my AI over the Sako and dont see myself shooting it much so it needs to go. Less than 200 documented rounds on it. Pics show todays shooting, some handloads during development and some of the Sako TRG 175 ammo. I'm sure it will do better with a better shooter.

Comes with all the tools/parts/manuals I received with it, including the original box. Was bought this Spring of 2024 from Euro Optic. Will include 3 magazines.

$5k to your FFL

Optics WTB: Illuminated Nikon M-300 BLK 1.5-6x42mm Riflescope,SuperSub Reticle

Looking for one in good condition, preferably with rings. I have lots to trade or will buy outright depending on the price. Let me know what you have and maybe we can work something out.

From OpticsPlanet:

https://www.opticsplanet.com/nikon-m-300-blk-1-5-6x42-riflescope.html

Nikon has developed the all-new M-300 BLK riflescope to maximize the effectiveness of the .300 AAC Blackout cartridge while using both supersonic and subsonic ammunition. Now, shooters have a 30mm body riflescope that can harness both variations of this up-and-coming cartridge. The M-300 BLK is available with an illuminated reticle to give shooters an added advantage during low-light situations. The illuminated reticle can be adjusted to different brightness settings using the push buttons on the eyepiece and has up to 32 different levels of intensity for the orange center dot. When the illumination feature is turned off, the last brightness level is saved. Engineered for minimum weight and maximum strength and durability, Nikon builds these scopes from aircraft grade aluminum alloy and utilizes larger internal lenses for maximum resolution. Larger tubes allow for the best resolution, wider windage and elevation travel, and superior low-light performance. Nikon engineered the entire optical system in the M-300 BLK to provide the shooter with maximum brightness and maximum light transmission. The result is an extraordinarily clear sight picture. To simplify field adjustments, Nikon has integrated this feature into the M-300 BLK riflescopes. Just sight-in as usual, then lift the spring-loaded adjustment knob, rotate to your "zero", and reengage. Field adjustments are now as simple as dialing-in your subsequent ranges. Reticle adjustments are made in 1/4-inch click-stop moves you can both feel and hear, and with no backlash to make your shot creep off target. Positive click reticle adjustments get you zeroed in quicker and maintain your setting-even with repeated recoil and under rugged conditions. The M-300 BLK, like all of Nikon's riflescopes, is optimized for use with Nikon Spot On Ballistic Match Technology. Spot On allows you to discover all of the exact aiming points on your scope's reticle at various yardages for your specific ammunition and load. Nikon riflescopes are covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. If any Nikon riflescope is found to have defects in workmanship or materials, we will, at our option, repair or replace it at no charge.

22 250 savage- copper fouling massive?

After firing approximately hundred plus rounds after a couple days to the range
From 55 bks’s and 55 Vmax

Big game and h380 powders
H380 and 38.6 gra. 3669fps av.
Big game 38.6-3670fps +averagw… chronograph didn’t pick it up yesterday

absolute blue burp of nastiness came out of the end of the barrel ( bore cleaner )
after seeing massive copper fowling especially towards the end of the last 7 inches of bore.
When viewed with a barrel/bore cam

Saw some fire cracking, which is to be seen, but nothing that’s massive, would not think to cause bullet deformation.

I’ll have to measure, but I think it shoots half three-quarter moa.

I’ll try slowing it down and see if that makes a difference it’s a 1/ 12 twist.

The big game powder definitely smashes the primer a little bit, but the Hodgeson h380 seems to be a more comfortable pressure..

I’ll slow them both down no need to run it that fast… 24 inch bull barrel

Bad barrel or running them too fast??
I’m guessing has about 300 rounds maybe 400 tops

Perhaps these are just savage barrels and that’s what they do?

The rifling has got the KILLDOZZER tracks down the entire barrel just like rock Creek barrels … so nothing to worry about there
I didn’t see anything that was glaringly awful about the rifling… I will have to look again after it’s clean

This is not the first time the barrel has done this. I just figured it was due to high round count and not getting the barrel sparkly clean.
and that I was finally using the right bore cleaner.?

But the barrel was sparkly clean prior to these hundred plus rounds.

i’ve never seen this much coppering in any of the barrels I own.

This purchase was quite a few years ago at Cabela’s it was the savage 110 with Accu trigger and the really cheap stock…

The other one came with a 6.5 Creedmoor I shot about 100 through it… stuck a different tube on the action so I don’t remember exactly how it shot. I don’t remember it shooting teeny tiny groups.

However, I never remember seeing any sort of coppering like this

Suppressors Cleaning AL .22 Baffles, Soak, Soda Blast, or?

Have a skunk problem so I pulled out the OLD integral Ruger MKII. Hasn't had any attention in a long time. Ran a few rounds through it and was a little sluggish. Needed a good cleaning. Decided to go ahead and disassemble the suppressor. Crap, lots of hard carbon/lead. The baffles are hard coat anodize but another rear chamber sleeve is not.

Looking for information on best way to clean the baffles. Soak in a solution or I have read that some are soda blasting.

I don't really like the blasting due to lead dust issues but I guess I am open.

I have seen the Simple Green HD Pro for airplanes mentioned, found Breakthrough Clean that says it is OK to use on AL. If you are soaking in the Simple Green are you using full strength or diluted (what ratio?)

I am sure there are other solutions.
Thanks
