I had a 6 Dasher in a Remington 700 action for a while. It fed fine, but the empty would end up in the ejection port almost every time. I eventually gave up and went with a Bighorn. Now I want another Dasher in a 700 action, the very same action if truth be told. A local shooter said he'd seem my problem before and it was caused by one piece scope rails. The brass hits it on ejection and bounces back in the chamber. I actually saw this on my old Dasher, but didn't put it together. He thought two piece scope mounts had fixed it.

Anyone else gotten a Dasher to eject with a R700 action?

Does anyone have any tips on shooting harder recoiling calibers from tripods? The rifle is a suppressed 300 norma that is about 18 Lbs with an arca rail and rrs anvil tripod. I usually shoot an old school .308/hog saddle setup with no issues but this has been a bit harder to manage. If you had to do a standing shot would you shorten the front leg to move the tripod center forward?

My nephew has an 1897 take down model 12 gauge. The bottom of the receiver where the magazine tube threads in has been flattened over the years. The interrupted threads are fine. Is it worth while to try to reform the receiver? This is a beater shotgun but it is his pride and joy. The gun was made in 1911. I will post pictures in the am. Thank you all!

Tikka T1x will not eject a fired case frame the chamber. Approximately 500 rounds fired from the gun. It was fine for a while, but started leaving fired cases jammed in the chamber. It will extract non fired rounds, in chamber. Bolt has been cleaned, chamber cleaned. The extractor won’t go over the case rim of a fired case. There’s a “fix” to remove a small amount of material from the extractor, but that hasn’t changed anything.

Does anyone have a FORSTER Grendel - GO - gage handy ?and FIELD gauge.
