AI Straight Trigger shoe, NEWBIE AI QUESTION

So I am a brand new AI owner. Just recently purchased a AT-XC and am waiting on the arrival of it to Mile High. Every rifle I own has a flat trigger shoe, and was hoping to swap the original curved AI show for the flat shoe. I was informed that the XC is leaving dealers with the comp trigger, is this true? Also will there be any issue with putting this shoe on the trigger if its not a comp model?
Just a reminder I am new to the AI world, and currently picking up barrels as I go. :)

Bergara B14R Heavy Ammo

I have owned my heavy-barreled B14R for a little over a month now and have mainly shot SK Rifle Match. I probably have 500-600 rounds through it so I feel that the barrel is "seasoned" enough so to speak that I can start playing around with ammo to dial it in. Rifle Match shoots pretty dang good but it will occasionally throw a couple.

I wanted to know what ammo my fellow B14R heavy owners have found that produces the most consistent groups. I know it can vary from barrel to barrel but I just wanted to get a good baseline of ammos to try instead of ordering one of everything.

I have also shot Eley contact and Lapua long range and both of them left a lot to be desired. That was also early in the barrel life so I may need to try them again at some point.

Bolt Action 6.5 Creedmoor

Hello, looking for a good bolt action 6.5 Creedmoor to ping steel at 1000-1200 yards. May try PRS in the future, not sure.

Currently looking at the MPA BA PMR PRO II but before I click buy now what else should I consider? I think I heard something about a certain magazine not working on the new ARC action? Is that an issue? Double stack magazines would be preferable.

Is the Delta 5 Pro a contender? Maybe some good barreled action in a MDT chassis? There's so many options out there now I want to make sure I'm not missing anything that I'll figure out after I already have something.

Thanks for any and all opinions. I'll probably go for a Vortex Razor Gen 3 6-36x56, ATACR 7-35x36, Zeiss S3 LRP 6-36x56 or something similar to put on it. Maybe a Kahles K540i if I can find a crazy deal LOL, doubtful.

SOLD Terminus Zeus QC SA LH

Up for sale is a used SA Zeus QC.
Posted it a few months back, changed my mind about selling it but an axmc popped up and I couldn't resist. So it has to go.

Some brass wear marks, but overall in really good shape. About 600 or so rounds on it.

1250 shipped

Help me spend my money: Seekins

Have an itch for a precision Gas Gun with a nice optic. Have access to range out to 1000 yards. Steel every 100 yards.

Wanting to go with Seekins for the reputation of accuracy, etc

Can’t decide between the 18” DMR in .223 wylde or the SP10 in 6.5cm 22”. I understand they have the 6ARC in the DMR but for what I already have I want to stay with the .223 or 6.5cm.

For those that have had gone down this road or are on it would you recommend the AR15 plateform or AR10? Both, from reviews, are going to give me sub MOA accuracy with match ammo.

DMR $1,800
SP10 $2,800 (worth that extra grand?)

Thoughts? Best bang for the buck?

Terminus Zeus quick change action question?

Can you install a non-quick change barrel on a quick change (QC) action? Looking at the tenon drawings it looks like there are more threads on the barrel for the non-quick change barrel than the quick change barrel. Looks like about 0.25” of smooth barrel left as the bearing surface for the 2 hex screws for the QC option. I saw Gavin Toobe (Ultimate Reloader) build a rifle on a Zeus action where he torqued the barrel to (on a QC action) 90 ft-lbs in a barrel vise using the 3 lug action wrench. His Zeus action had the set screw holes on it. If a guy was going to build a rifle using the Zeus action, and you were not gonna change to a different caliber, is there any down side to getting the QC model? Is losing those extra barrel threads a compromise?

Rifle Scopes Best optic aroumd 2k with mil discount

Looking for a new scope geared toward hobbyist PRS/long range. Through the years I've owned most everything in the $3500 and under price tag. Always purchased used or paid full price. Was never aware of places like expertvoice or govx that offer veterans some hefty discounts. Fast forward to today, with so many options and so many big names offering discounts to veterans. I dont feel like I'll be shooting at an level that requires me to spend 4k on a new optic. Im sure they are fantastic, but prices are getting out of control. I've owned Kahles, NF ATACRS, vortex gen2 and gen 1 razors, schmidt, Leupold mk5, premier, and a wide variety. What I ended up settling with 5 years ago were Minox ZP5 scopes on my longrange rifles, and I still have a few. For my eyes, these are leaps and bounds above the atacrs and vortex stuff at the time. These could always be picked up in the classifieds for under 2k, and Minox even had a 50 percent off promo once.

So, now that I'm aware of all the fantastic patriotic companies that offer discounts to veterans. And all the new options and advancements, is there something new as good as the Minox in that 2k to 2.5k price range with the discount? Leupold and NF definately make some of the toughest and well regarded proucts, but not my preference for this application. I feel like there may be something newer, that has better glass. Maybe just go with what I know and pick up another Minox, but I got nervous when a company gets out of the game.

I've found the following to offer substantial discounts, either direct, through expertvoice, or gov x. I have never owned or tried the longrange optics from a few of these, but do notice they get great press.

Leupold
Nightforce
Vortex
Steiner (never owned )
Leica (never owned )
Burris
Zeiss (never owned)
Trijicon

This is a poll to help identify what might be some of the most sought after crossover style scopes, but let's define what type of crossover scope I'm trying to address here. Let's say you'd like a good scope for hunting big game but also like to go shoot steel to 1000 yards give or take using the same rifle. What type of scope would you be looking for (whether existing or something that hasn't hit the market yet). Let's use the following as some criteria in no particular order:
  • A scope that can be at home on a hunting rifle as well as a long range rifle (this is not a dedicated competition scope)
  • Magnification no greater than 4.5x at the bottom end (nothing wrong with putting a 5-25 or higher optic on your hunting rig but it really limits the functionality for many)
  • Magnification of 15x or higher at top end
  • FFP (sorry, SFP has very limited use for dynamic shooting environments and is not viable in this category)
  • Decent FOV (scopes with wide field of view definitely have an advantage here, but should have minimal edge distortion)
  • A lighter scope is preferred (shouldn't be over 35oz and preferably under 30oz)
  • Have a reticle that works at bottom mag as well as top mag (this is where many FFP scopes today fail)
  • Illumination that is daylight bright (can be seen under bright sunlight conditions)
  • Exposed elevation turret (you have to be able to dial for distance)
  • Capped or locking windage turret
  • Objective no smaller than 42mm but still function excellent in low light
  • Be forgiving with eyebox
  • Be forgiving with DOF
  • Be forgiving with parallax
  • Have really good IQ with well defined contrast and clarity (doesn't have to be alpha class but not Chinese either)
I wanted to throw in a few other options in the poll but I was limited on how many options to provide, so pick the closest to what you would choose.

****************************************************************************

Something else I'd like to know, in what order would you rank the following criteria and how much it plays a role in your choice for the above crossover scope:
  • Large magnification range (examples would be the 8x scopes like March and NF NX8)
  • Short magnification range (this would be your traditional 4x and 5x scopes)
  • Mid magnification range (something around 6x is where you'd like to be)
  • Weight under 35oz
  • Weight under 30oz
  • Weight under 25oz
  • Objective size 56mm (the bigger the better)
  • Objective size 50mm (middle of the road is best of both worlds)
  • Objective size 42/44mm (smaller objective is worth the trade off to reduce weight and/or streamline the scope)
  • Brightest image possible (shooting at dawn/dusk is crucial for you)
  • Shorter scope length (this rig is also used for night hunting with NV/Thermal clip-on)
  • Forgiving Eyebox
  • Forgiving DOF
  • Forgiving Parallax
  • Exposed elevation turret
  • Capped windage turret
  • Locking turrets
  • Well designed reticle that works at lowest mag and highest mag
  • Tree reticle (nice not to have to dial in certain situations)
  • Non-tree reticle (keep it clean)
  • Daylight bright illumination
  • Wide FOV
  • IQ, contrast and clarity (what many of us refer to as "pop")
  • Control of CA (the less chromatic aberration the better)
  • I'm sure I'm forgetting something so feel free to add other important factors for you
Given the above ranking (in your order) what would be the "ideal" crossover scope for you if it doesn't already exist today?

Spreadsheet of scopes that meet the following criteria:
  • FFP Hash Reticle
  • 4.5x or less at bottom magnification
  • 15x or more at top magnification
  • Weigh 30 ounces or less (preferably under 28oz)
  • Length less than 14 inches (preferably under 13.5")
  • Not manufactured in China (if you need to ask you haven't been paying attention)
I have ordered these by bottom magnification at far left and increasing up to 4.5x on far right
