Lyman / Mark 7 Apex 10

Anyone have one of these? I'm shooting more and more and while I love reloading I am trying to streamline things for time saving purposes.

I am currently loading on a Dillon 650 (which I would probably keep as I have multiple toolheads / case feeder etc etc and I could use it for little jobs) but the Apex 10 is a pretty awesome piece of kit and has enough stations that there are no compromises (swaging / powder check / separate seating & crimping which from what I have read is deffo the way to go).

I watched some videos and the Apex is pretty involved to switch calibers so I would only do that to do a large volume . This press would be setup almost exclusively for loading 9mm, maybe once a year I would switch toolheads to process - ie decap / size / swage - pre cleaned 9mm brass before cleaning it again (I know it is two passes but it keeps all the crap away from the press and the loaded ammo doesn't have lube on it). Bulk 223 would be the same deal.

I would be purchasing this and running manually initially to get it setup / get a feel for it with a view to automating. I would add the suite of sensors as that is part of the attraction (swage sense / primer orientation etc etc).

My questions to anyone who has the Apex 10:

1) My main question is how has the priming system performed? I have read a LOT of reviews and the one negative thing I kept seeing was priming issues - I know not everyone is mechanically minded so that could be a factor but if its going to be a heart break I don't want it.

2) Did you get the digital powder measure? If so how has it performed?

3) My current presses live in my unheated garage but I figure the Apex 10 with all the extra tech / gadgetry really needs to live somewhere more hospitable / heated - where does yours live at and how has the reliability been?

4) What dies are you using? FW Arms seem to be the go to for this machine - anyone running these?

Lyman / Mark 7 are working on another new press which is pretty revolutionary (Genesys) and I am keeping an eye on that but they have been saying it is just about to be released now for some time which makes me nervous (hopefully they are getting the final gremlins ironed out and it will be awesome). It is more of a out of the box solution with everything included and a bunch of new technology (separate motors for indexing / moving the toolhead etc etc) as opposed to the Apex 10 which is more of an regular / proven design where you can start basic (ie manually) and add tech until you are fully automated. The Genesys cannot be run manually which is a downside for me (if the press is doing something funky it is good to be able to run it manually to aid in troubleshooting).

Trijicon Credo HX 1-8 on SCAR 17

Anyone use one of these yet? I’ve got the Trijicon Credo 1-6 on my SCAR 17 in an ADM mount and it’s been great. I’m wanting to move the 1-6x to my 14.5” AR and get a little more magnification on the SCAR. It’s a factory 13” barrel with a KNS DiSCARder and MREX rail. I’ve also got the 16” barrel in the longer MREX rail with a Mototech regulator. It wears a HUXWRX Flow 762. For $1050 it seems like a great fit as long as it’s a resilient as the 1-6 which I would think based on its increased weight. I use the rifle for run and gun and out to 300 yards. Anyone have any poor experiences? How is the image at top magnification? I would assume light transmission is better due to increased tube size. I was very happy with the Credo 1-6 on all accounts. The extra $500 for the 10x or 2x the price for the Razor just doesn’t appeal to me. I’ve got high end glass on my MRAD and M82.

Night Vision Laser speed/ Knockoff lasers

I’ve been waiting since last shot show for the Z Bolt ACAL to come out and it doesn’t seem like that’s actually gonna happen anytime soon. Then I figured I’d try the holosun IRIS, but that’s a flop so far as well.

Anyone use any of the knockoff IR units? Specifically been looking at the laser speed M6TR.

Everything I’ve seen on it has been pretty positive, and most people saying it flat out beats their FP peq15’s.

Trying to get feedback here cause most of the feedback I’ve found from searching is on Reddit / ar15.

If you have any other lasers to check out as well, let me know!

Annealing machine.........

I'm really considering the Quick annealer or the amp for my annealing. I don't think I want a flame and have to mess with the torch and flame setup all the time. I really want consistent annealing everytime with simplicity. I would be annealing everytime once I get which ever product to keep everything the same in reloading process. I've never really annealed and decided I prolly need to for case life and consistency on neck tension.

Any info on products would be helpful

Accessories MagnetoSpeed V3 with Gray Ops Bayonet Mount Price Drop: $250

IMG_5399.jpeg

$350 +Shipping

Bought I bought the MagnetoSpeed 4 or 5 years ago. Used it as a backup to my Lab Radar when doing testing. I bought the Gray Ops Bayonet Mount 2 years ago after trying some other mounting methods. The Gray Ops is by far the best (non barrel attached) mounting method there is. I've used it on sporterweight skinny and short barrels and 31" 1.25" straight taper barrels and have had no issues.

Frankford Arsenal LITE Rotary Tumbler Problem - SOLVED (Agitator Template)

So perhaps the biggest problem with the FART Lite is it's REALLY bad with low volumes of cases, they'll just roll around on the bottom motionless.

So I made a template for you guys to make your own agitators. Just cut it out and it fits perfectly, did all the hard work for ya :p

Simply open the "FART Lite Agitator.pdf" in Google Chrome > Set Print Scale (100% or Fit to Paper) > Print. Then check your dimensions match what they're supposed to be. Next cut the paper along the lines, tape it down to a cheap 1/8" thick plastic cutting board or plastic cafeteria tray, use a sharpie to leave the "shadow" from the paper on the plastic, remove paper, cut plastic with saw, file if necessary. Heat middle of the H with hair dryer so it can fit in the drum, then it should snap into the diagonals of the hexagonal drum. JB Weld Marine Epoxy not necessary, but you could add it.

I used high tech 3D mapping (playdough) to map the inside of the drum and make the little roller grooves a "perfect" fit. I am going to continue refining the template and try to get it actually perfect though.

I hope this helps some of you, and many more of you who stumble upon this thread from a google search :)

We the Sheeple

With all the waste, fraud and abuse being uncovered by DOGE, I’m getting the impression this is just the tip of the iceberg. At this point DOGE has realized they just need to focus on very basic fundamentals like 1) is this payment going to a real organization? 2) are these federal employees actually working at XYZ agency? 3) is this federal funding going to a known enemy or criminal element? Once they get done evaluating all the 450 Federal agencies for these basics fundamentals, then they can dive into more complex fraud like 1) Was this Grant money for “Transgender frog studies” actually laundered for personal use? And by whom? And did that money then get routed back to Pelosi, Biden, Schumer etc.

This video is one of many where Elon is explaining the depth of the waste, fraud and abuse being uncovered.

WE THE SHEEPLE are just one big cash cow that the politicians and bureaucrats pilfer from year after year. They never, ever had any intention of protecting us, our freedom, or our future. They’re just protecting the gravy train. Once the government started getting our income tax 100 years ago, they realized this is the new game, to figure out other ways to extract regular payments from the people. Payroll Tax, Social Security Tax, Sales Tax, Property Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Gasoline Tax, Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and when you die, Inheritance Tax.

Our government is sending hundreds of billions to charities and NGO’s who can then do whatever they want with the money. They can say it’s a charity to help with orphans and then spend 95% of the money on re-election campaigns and personal wealth. #TheClintonFoundation
