SOLD Annealing Made Perfect (AMP), A&D Auto Trickler V3, Henderson Trimmer Gen 3, Primal Right CPS

I purchased these couple months back trying to set up a reloading room. But in the reality, I don't even have time to shoot my guns, let alone developing any load. So here we go, again :)
These are very highly sought after equipment with months of lead time. Unless otherwise stated, they are all like new with less than 50 rounds loaded (42 to be exact)

1. Annealing Made Perfect (AMP) Mark II. Comes with brass grip and extra pilots (02, 11, 17) for 308, 223, 300BO. Asking $1550 shipped. SPF

2. A&D scale Auto Trickler with Auto Throw V3. Comes with extra pulley belt set. Asking $900 shipped. SOLD

3. Henderson Trimmer Gen 3. This one is brand new, never used. Comes with 1 extra cutter for 223 (300BO) beside one for 308, and the brass bin & shaving containment. The base plate was enlarged (by Dremel) to clear the collar for short case like the 300BO. This was done after talking to Todd from Henderson since they did not make the hole large enough to trim short cases like 300BO. It also comes with the Quick Mount plate from Inline Fabrication. Asking $950 shipped for the entire setup. SOLD

Also heads up. I will have other equipment such as Redding T7 turret press with extra turret and bunch of high end dies listed later. But I need time to sort things out since we just moved.

Took my dad shooting this weekend.

I hauled my dad along this weekend to go shoot some rifles out past 1000 yards. He had some pretty good success with it. His first time past 1000 yards and probably his 3rd time past 500. I got to see a couple of my good buddies that I like to shoot with as well. The wind was swirling and gusting 12-16 mph. Just thought I would share with the group. This is the first group he shot at 1776 yards.

Hunting & Fishing Well, you only live once! Booked Arctic Muskox hunt!

So I have a love affair with the far Arctic... and since Africa has just gotten stupid in terms of costs and safety... I decided that I'd look North instead of South.

Pulled the trigger officially today. April, 2022... heading to Edmonton then Nunavut... well above the Arctic Circle... to hunt Muskox.

Going to be an amazing trip! I have friends counting the minute until their next tropical cruise where they can sit with 5,000 people on a floating bar... No thanks! Counting the days for what should be a hell of an adventure!

Now let's hope that the Gerbil Prime Minister Justin Bieber -- er -- Trudeau... doesn't ban Muskox or something.

@Sean the Nailer ... what should I wear in April in Nunavut? Guessing Hawaiian shirt and Vans are not recommended?

Cheers,

SIrhr

22LR Ammo Issues

Hey guys, I’ve been having some ammo issues and wanted to see if anyone else has had the same thing happen. Life got really busy and I haven’t been able to shoot matches consistently for probably the last year and a half. Things finally slowed down so I dusted my rifle off and finally have been able to shoot again. I have a case of SK Semi Auto that I used for practice ammo. It pretty much always had the same velocity as SK Rifle Match but it just wasn’t as consistent. I loaded some up and as soon as I started shooting it I noticed something was way off. When I chronographed it I was getting crazy low velocities. When I say low I mean 800-900 FPS at 50-60 degree temps. Every once in awhile I will get one that is over 1000 FPS but that is rare. Everything else I have is in the 1080-1100 FPS which is normal in my rifle. I have tried the ammo in a Tikka, CZ and my Vudoo and it shoots the same in all three rifles. It’s stored in a climate controlled room that stays around 70 degrees year round with all my other ammo. No crazy humidity swings either. I’m just scratching my head trying to figure out what is going on. I bought the ammo probably 2-2 1/2 years ago so it isn’t 20 or 30 years old and stored in a garage. Has anyone else seen this happen? I’m hoping when it gets hot the velocity will come back up so I can at least use it for practice ammo.

Man attempts to burn down PA Governor’s Mansion

Surprised no one’s posted anything about this one yet. A guy broke into the Pennsylvania governor’s mansion with a Molotov he made out of lawnmower gas and Heineken bottles he found on the property and tried to burn the place down with the governor and his family inside.

Supposedly he was also carrying a hammer and was going to beat him if he found him.

Another dead horse, AR tuning.

I know, its been talked to death. But I am still curious.

I have a AR build with a lot of Mk12 flavour, with 18" barrel, rifle lenght gas and an AEM5 suppressor.
So far I have used a standard carbin spring and a H2 buffer.

But last week I got myself a Schmeisser multi wire buffer spring, which is a bit like the Geissele mg42 but with 2 strands of wire and compatible with regular mil-spec type buffers. The multi wire spring is a bit stiffer than the carbin spring. Some say that a stiffer spring with a light buffer is better for function. Others seems to prefer to add weight with a heavier than normal buffer. I did some testing the other day at the range.

I tried the multi wire wring with a carbin buffer, recoil was light but also snappy, at least that is how I would describe it. Ejection pattern was at 14-14:30.

Then I switched over to the H2 buffer and multi wire spring, a bit more recoil was felt but it also felt more controlled, more of a push. Ejection pattern was at 15:00.

What would you run?
I have thought about getting a H3 buffer but I am not sure it is worth the money.
I am not switching to an adjustable gas block.

Springfield 2020 .22LR

Couldn’t really resist the purchase after examining one. Very few tool marks, and the only polymer part is the bolt shroud, magazine body/rotor, and stock. The Picatinny rail is alloy, apparently with no tilt. The receiver is tubular, with the rear receiver ring the same size as the front so I don’t know right offhand if an existing scope rail will be compatible. Not a Rem.700 footprint, but does have a hanger for 700 clone triggers.
Ruger brand mags fit like a glove, but I haven’t tried feeding live rounds yet. Overall the build quality is definitely there, I just hope the barrel God’s have smiled on me and this example actually groups well. All factory goo has been removed, I’ve greased, oiled, and adjusted, so I’m just waiting to test. I’ve slapped a 1” tube 8-32x44 scope for break-in.
