Rifle Scopes ZCO Hunter scope at the IWA event

Hey guys, there's a new ZCO Hunter scope being released at the IWA event for the European market. I figured that I would answer some questions before the rumors spread.

  1. This is a European scope only for now
  2. It's not being released very soon.
  3. A United States based version is not coming right away as the design will most likely be different.

did i made an error while mounting this scope?

Hi, i am probably massively overthinking this but, since this is a pretty expensive rig, i want to set it up in the best way. I mounted the scope following a strict procedure (the crosshair is level to gravity and to the top ring bubble, everything is torqued down to specs). It was a long process and i wish i won't have to do it again.

Using the typical criss cross pattern method i torqued every top ring screw to 25 in/lbs with these hawkins light tactical 30 mm rings.

At the end of the process i was very satisfied because the system crosshair-bubble is perfectly leveled to gravity. I noticed that the gap between the front and rear rings is not perfectly even. I read somewhere that someone is even using feeler gauges to check fo uniformity in the gaps. Since of course having the exact identical gap is impossible, i want to understand if in my case the gap differences are acceptable or not.

I measured with a feeler gauge: rear left 0.9 mm (0.035 inches) gap, rear right 0.9 mm gap, front left 0.80 mm (0.031 inches) gap, front right 0.85 mm gap. So basically there is a max 0.1 mm (1/256 inches) difference between the rear and the front rings, while there is a max 0.05 mm (1/512 inches) difference between left and right.

i will post some pics. The gap is not easily visible in these pics i think but when looking in person i notice it.

what do you guys think?

Firearms StG 58 For Sale

**** Rifle Is Sold Pending Funds ****

StG58 For Sale

I purchased this hand selected, matching number, excellent kit from A&D Global back in 1996 and it was built on a Type 3 Imbel Gear Logo receiver imported by Pacific Armament. Except for the approximately 400 rounds I fired through the rifle, it appeared to have been fired very little when I received the kit. The chamber headspaces at 1.634”.

I will include one 20 round FN magazine with the rifle.

I am asking $1,850.00 Shipped.

I will provide complete photographs upon e-mail request. There are too many to post here.

I gave up trying to find a box to ship the rifle and decided yesterday to build my own from clean large sheets of cardboard. I also used 1/2” cardboard to beef up the box top, bottom and sides along with internal supports the rifle. With this solution I was be able to include shipping in the $1,850.00 asking price. The buyer will have to pay for any insurance above the $100.00 that is included in the shipping charges.

If interested or have questions, contact me at [email protected]

First suppressor

Looking for a little info from the suppressor crowd. I am looking to get my first one and I will probably set up a rifle specifically for this project. This is really more a question of what is the best round to start with for a suppressed hunting rifle. I was eyeballing the 338 ARC pretty hard, but with all things equal as far as FPS goes would a 458 socom be a better option for hunting? Are there any rounds that are known to be particularly difficult as far as feeding and functioning that I should stay away from? I have a short barreled 338 lapua that I will probably eventually get a can for as well, but for this one I want to set up a rig to run true subsonic suppressed rounds but I would like to get as much kinetic energy as possible for hunting.

Too many (Trump) voters show up to vote in PA, so they closed the polling place down early.

So here we go, a continuation of where they left off in 2020.

Voter Supression is against the law, not that it matters to the cop cutting the line off.
He said "The Process Is Slow & Grueling." IOW, you can't flip ballots that fast.

8.6 Blackout Build Upgrade

I figured you guys would get as big as a kick out of this as I do. I built my 8.6BLK a couple months ago, and have been waiting for the Porq Chop I ordered to get out of paperwork jail, which it finally did last weekend.

So the basics: Aero stripped upper and lower, 12” Faxon barrel, SLR handguard, ambi controls, TriggerTech single stage 3lb drop in trigger, Magpul grip and vertical grip, Aero BCG, Radian charging handle, Super 42 spring with Odin adjustable weight, SOPMOD (SBR’ed of course), Cherry Bomb muzzle device, Arken Optics 1-8 LPVO.

I mounted the can onto the rifle and realized something was missing. I have the Sylvan Arms folding stock adapter on all my AR15s, and since the buffer tube on an AR10 is the same size as an AR15’s, I figured, why the hell not? Ordered one, it got delivered Monday afternoon, threw it on Monday night. Now with the can and folding stock adapter, I am really loving this build. It’s a bit heavy (I’m guessing somewhere between 10lbs and 12lbs), but I’ve replaced my 12.5” 5.56 SBR with my 8.6 as the rifle I keep in my go bag.

I had some Magpul flip up backup sights, but didn’t like them, and threw those 45° flip up sights on it tonight, but I’m not really liking those either, so those may come off. If they do, I may just get a 45° mount and throw a red dot on it.

Illegals overrun Springfield Ohio

Apparently 20k plus illegals have overwhelmed the town of Springfield Ohio. They are supposedly eating people’s pets among other things if this reporting is true:

Anyone in that area? If so is it true?

Winchester 75

I recently acquired this winchester 75 made in 1948.
20230529_153605.jpg

It's rough, but it's on my list. After a barrel band screw, sling screw, barrel block screws and trigger guard screw its complete.

The Redfield sights are nice but the rear just spins. Will adjust up or down from 35-40 and then just spin.

I'd like to put a barrel mounted optic on it. I've looked and the prices go from 400- 5000 for period correct.

What do you experienced people think would be a good choice. I just want to shoot it. It will be a shooter. If I could actually dial an old scope enough to shoot in a nrl/prs match that would be awesome and I would use it. But I don't think that's possible.

Or do I just find a EGW or similar scope mount and put a modern scope on it?

Budget is 700-800 for period correct'ish scopes. I've got modern scopes I can use and the egw rail just looks sold out, but I'm sure there are other options.

My plan is to clean it up, rust blue it, keep it oiled and shoot it.

Optics Nightforce ATACR 1-8

I have a new condition Nightforce ATACR 1-8. Scope was only mounted but only saw a few rounds fired. It is black with the FC-DMx reticle and FFP. It comes with the badger ordnance condition one mount with an acro side mount. I can separate the mount and scope. Also comes with original box, paperwork and accessories. Asking $2600 shipped for the whole setup.
