For those of you that may have some familiarity with classic Helicopters, I have a question. Re: the Bell 47 (any of the series but "G" in particular - the one featured in the M*A*S*H TV Show), I am aware that it was powered by an internal combustion engine. But how did the torque produced by that engine transfer to the rotor group? For most modern day helicopters (and, including some of the classic Viet-Nam era choppers like the UH-1H Huey), they were Turboshaft Jet Engines where the compressed air produced by the engine feeds the main shaft. For the 47G, I can't imagine a "direct gear" assembly (even with a reduction gear). Perhaps the engine fed a hydraulic pump which, in turn, fed the rotor group?

So with form 4 wait times being “down” (I know that’s hit or miss, not the point of this discussion) I was thinking about picking up a Dead Air Primal as a can that will somewhat “future proof” me with possibilities of what could happen in the future with the wrong administration.

I can’t find much info on them online though. I understand it won’t be be the best can on anything. But at least I would be able to put something on just about anything I could foresee myself owning?

I stumbled across it while trying to find a can for my FNX 45 Tactical. So that’s the main thing I’m thinking about using it on. It would just be nice to also be able to slap it on an AR if wanted(I already have other AR suppressors, but still), or a PCC if wanted.

Just curious if anyone has any info or thoughts they could share?

Two questions:

1. I am in the process of transitioning (no jokes) and what I've been doing for drills so far is one shot from the low ready from 20 yards. I've set a 1.5 second par time. I've got about 150 rounds down the pipe of my new PC M and P this way. What other drills are you all using for the first 500, and then the first 1,000 rounds to cement proper performance?

2. The red dot that came with the pistol is a crimson trace unit that says made in China on it. I am going to change that to either the RMR or the other offering from Trijicon. This pistol will eventually serve in a duty role. Is one better than the other? Oh yeah, I've read most of the thoughts on this forum on the subject and am selecting the 6 moa dot option however I go. Looked thru the RMR yesterday on a friend's Glock and liked it.

I have my grandpa’s Remington 721 and am struggling to find a bullet that it likes. I’ve just started on this journey into 30-06. Looking for some guidance to find an accurate bullet for it. Maybe someone has been down this road with a 721 before. I’ve tried 150 FMJ’s and 178 ELD-X’s. The 150’s were almost all 3-4” groups with 1 load in the upper velocities coming in just under 2”. The 178’s were a scatter gun at 8” or more. Maybe this barrel is shot out too. Just not sure what to expect from it, but I’m a little disappointed so far. I was hoping to work up a light recoiling load for deer, but at this point I just need something it will shoot well.
