Like new Schmidt 520 Ultra Short with the latest Dt2+ turrets and MSR2. Was going to use this on a Long Action hunting rifle with split rings and spacing isn't going to work on my specific setup. This is a personal item of mine. I'll probably regret selling this one with the separate illumination knob that's no longer produced. These are still upwards of 4k. I have begun my search for components for a new 8.6 Blackout build and am looking for recommendations for a barrel blank, 1 in 3 twist, 16" MTU, M24, heavy Palma contour etc. (weight of this barrel will not be a concern.) Can you recommend a barrel mfgr that makes blanks for these rough parameters? I'm also in search of a reputable gunsmith with history of machining bolt action builds in this caliber. I will be shooting this rifle suppressed (have a TBAC 338 Ultra I expect to get out of jail soon.) I will also be reloading for this caliber. Primary use will be shooting off a bipod w/rear bag with a high degree of accuracy in mind. Suggestions?

Mission: Short action, competition "grade", ground-blind oriented, short barrelled, suppressed hunting rifle.

I own an Impact on an MCS TCS, with a Kahles 6-24 in 6BR. The thing shoots much better than I can, yadda yadda. I'm planning to form 1 the action for this project, if it comes to be.

Seeing how easy-mode the BR variants are, as well as how efficient the case is, I don't see a downside to necking up some Lapua brass and running a short barrelled 6.5 BR. I've read that some of the guys experimenting with this cartridge in 2008-9 were seeing 2800fps or more pushing 140s. Maybe even 2900 but that was really pushing it, even for BR guys... Also, this was from 26" barrels. Assuming 30fps per inch, cutting 14", I'm guessing a loss of 420fps from their numbers?

My question is, does anyone know or can anyone help me get a good idea what velocity to expect from a 12" 6.5BR, pushing 130 Berger VLDHs?

If I can't get 2600 fps from a 12-14" barrel, then I might re-think. Even at 2500 fps it's worth doing to me, but getting 2600 is the goal.

Hello, so I zeroed my rifle in AZ when it was hot (105 degrees) today I went to recheck my zero and it was 65 degrees . My bullet at 100 yards dropped 2 inches. Is this normal ? I’ve always hunting and shot my rifle in California on the coast, the temps were never much different.

I’m shooting a 300 wing mag 185 grn Berger rounds.

Israel Bans UNRWA; Defies Biden-Harris

Israel banned the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) from operating in the country, defying the Biden-Harris administration.

Israel’s parliament, or Knesset, passed a law Monday banning the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) from operating in the country and restricting its operations in the West Bank and in Gaza.

UNRWA was established by the United Nations to care for the needs of refugees from the war launched by Arab states against Israel in 1948. It caters to millions of Palestinians, but also incubates extreme anti-Israel ideology.

UNRWA staffers have been directly involved in terror attacks against Israel, including the October 7 attack. One recent case involved a UNRWA employee who was responsible for the mass murder of Israeli civilians hiding in a bomb shelter.

The Jerusalem Post reported:

“UNRWA long ago ceased to be a humanitarian aid agency, but in addition to it being an integral supporter of terror and hate, is an agency to eternalize poverty and suffering. The rationale is simple – in order to survive, UNRWA created demand for the product it provides. The circle of horror ended today, they are out!” [Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman Yuli Edelstein] concluded.

The first bill states that UNRWA will no longer “operate any institution, provide any service, or conduct any activity, whether directly or indirectly,” in Israel.

The second bill states that the treaty between Israel and UNRWA, signed following the Six Day War in 1967, will expire within seven days of the bill passing its final voting in the Knesset plenum; that no Israeli government agencies or representatives may contact UNRWA or a representative of it, beginning three months after the bill passes; that criminal proceedings into UNRWA employees’ involvement in acts of terror will continue; and that Israel’s National Security Council must report to the committee every six months regarding the bill’s implementation.

The Times of Israel noted that the Biden-Harris administration opposed the legislation and urged Israel not to implement it. The administration earlier threatened an arms embargo if Israel did not work with UNRWA in Gaza.

I have a 20” Dracos Straitjacket barrel that I installed on an AR-10 and put around 25 rounds through. Shot well for me with factory ammo.

I ended up putting a 16” .308 barrel on the rifle instead of the 6.5. No longer have a use for the barrel.

Has some marks on the exterior, but nothing crazy. Comes with the gas block and tube.

Looking to get $350 OBO.

I got my first S&B Polar in this week and noticed that the windage turret has some slack at the end of its right hand travel at 4 mils The elevation turret has the slack when it is dialed all the way up. If i go 1 tenth back down it goes away. The movement is not there when the turret lock is on. Is this normal?

Fits terminus kratos. 18” benchmark carbon in 7prc. Sendero light. I twist. 375 rounds down the tube. Shot well with 180 hybrids and retumbo or rl26. Sold the rifle without this barrel.

I just finished building a 6.5cm with zermatt origin action/26" proof ss prefit. I loaded up a few 5 shot groups with H4350 (36.0gr/36.5gr/37.0gr/37.5gr) and hornady 140gr eld match in once fired hornady 6.5cm brass (There's only 20rds through the barrel before shooting these groups). The shoulder was bumped back 1 thou. I shot the first 3 charge weights but didn't continue bc I noticed that all the fired brass had a scuff looking ring around them (It's not raised up or at least not enough to feel super noticeable) and that's not to be confused with the darker ring below that near the base from the resizing die. Recommended max charge weight is 40.0gr and i stopped at 37.0. Other than the rings the brass looks fine. Primers look good. Anyone know what would cause this mark? Does it mean something bad is happening or dangerous?

Throughout grade school age, we learn about our parent's appreciation of their music. Getting towards High School, we start to rebel and pick our own music (likely different from that we grew up with up to that point). After graduation from High School though- there's a very limited window, I'd estimate 5-10 years max, to appreciate new music. After that- it's all crap.

Doesn't matter what 'generation' you fall into, you at least understand your parents music -> that fed into your choices in high school, and after graduation you had to work with at best 5-10 years of music appreciation on your own before the majority of us stopped understanding "pop culture".

Good lord- I should likely be high as a kite for saying that but I wouldn't even know where to begin to get whatever mind altering substances that are available even today.

But that's my theory and I'm sticking with it for now.
