I am newer into the prs game and have been using an nx8 4-32 for my first few matches. I am using the moar reticle (I know, I’m not switching yet, lol). I feel this reticle isn’t the most useful and also think that it is too thick for my liking. I really don’t mind anything else about the scope. Haven’t had any trouble getting behind it as a lot of people talk about that. I am thinking of getting the moa xt reticle and am debating between the nx8 again or the atacr 7-35. Im not super fond of running a tree but I like everything else about the reticle. One question I have is if the glass is that much better that it would actually be of benefit in helping to see where it impacts on plate. I know there is more to it than that but wondering if it would help. The price is really stretching my budget but I have no where to look first hand so looking for some opinions if it is worth the cost over the nx8. I am open to other suggestions also but these are the main two I am looking at mainly for the reticle. I don’t mind leupold pr2 reticle but I just am not extremely trusting of them with all the problems I see online with their tracking. Any input would be appreciated

Anyone have any suggestions for shipping a large Pelican case with the rifle and accessories inside?

It's an IM3300 and the foam is all cut for the rifle itself and all of its accessories - the case is part of the package (I'm the seller).

My FFL offered to ship it, but said they don't have any cardboard boxes big enough for it, so I've been looking around for options.

The closest thing I can find is a FedEx "Bike" size shipping box - length wise it'd be perfect, but there'd be a substantial amount of "wiggle" room on the sides. So, I was thinking I'd just go with that and stuff the sides with wrap and what not to prevent serious movement.

Anyone else ever ship a large ass Pelican case w/ rifle? If so, what did you end up doing? Pre-made cardboard box? Make your own? Or something else?

I realize the Pelican case itself is designed for transport/travel, but I'd like to protect even the case itself if at all possible.

I'm pulling what little hair I have left out trying to get this combo to bump the shoulder on my 300PRC once fired Hornady brass. I'm setting up my just received Zero press with the SAC sizing dies, beginning with the 300PRC. I've followed the video instructions, used the lowest Redding comp shell holder I have (.002) and added a 13 shim stack to the SAC die, no bueno. Has anyone else experienced the inability to bump a shoulder with this die?

ETA - Ref the tooling in the pic, everything is working except the 300PRC sizing die. The other SAC sizing dies (6BR and 260R) are working as advertised, as are the seating dies.

Just bout a Wilson bullet seating die not realizing that I would need a arbor press. Might just buy a Forster or Redding micrometer bullet seating die, but at this point just curious. Should I get a arbor press & try the Wilson die? The regular press is $150 or one with a force gauge for $288.

So, what are the pros/cons of a Wilson type of die?

Looking at Criterion 14.5 Hybrid or Core Series barrels. If I wasn’t going with Criterion, I would prefer to go stainless. Proof is intriguing, but seems overhyped and overpriced. That being said, price isn’t necessarily an issue. Any suggestions from personal experience?

I found a great powder charge then seating depth combination for my MPA 6.5 Creedmoor.
The problem is that I am getting ejector marks on the brass, which I am in the process of troubleshooting.

My question is, what happens to the accuracy once I start backing off the powder load?
I know that elevation will need to be adjusted on the scope.
But I am talking about the group size. If I shoot 41.0 grains and lets say 2.207 seating depth then what happens if I go to 39 grains?
Will it affect my groups? Or can I theoretically keep the same seating depth and not have to go through that seating depth exercise again.
Again, not talking about elevation, I can adjust for that easily. Will my tight groups be affected.

I’m cleaning out the safe and have two MPA chassis for sale. Both are short action and non-folding.

The first one I bought in ‘15 or ‘16. It’s tan and was sent back to MPA to have the rat rail cut added. The night vision bridge has also been shortened. This would make a great chassis for a trainer, a backup or other project. $650 shipped

The next one is a BA Comp, black with custom red and white paint and is in great condition. $875 shipped

I was wanting some reduced recoil loads not only for the wife, but for some lapping bullets for this old mauser, and was wondering if anyone here screwed around with the old 13gr of red dot load for their full size caliber rifles.

So I have drank the Kool-aid and am changing the barrel of my Remington 22" 308 to a 16" 8.6blk.
I am interested to see how it performs.
It will, most likely, only be used with suppressed supers.
I have a 12" ar to shoot subs.
We'll see where this journey goes.

I have always been a fan of classics and I have been wanting a 6 mm to fill in the gap in my safe. I looked at the performance of all the 6 mm's. I my opinion they don't vary too much in performance with the possible exception on the 6mm Remington. So being a classic fan I have decided to have a chassis rifle made up in 243 to go with my 338 LM. Something to shoot when I am too old to pickup the 338 LM.
My question is; would a 243 make it in an ELR match, even at 2000 yards it still might have almost 1000f/s velocity left ?

Needing a new pair of hunting boots as mice made themselves at home in mine over last winter. Looking for something in the <$300 range, insulated and waterproof. My previous pair of boots were Irish Setter Vaprtrek and the quality was nice however the insulation (400g) was too little for me as my feet were freezing in mid-November last season here in central Indiana (probably 30-40deg at 7am). I've found the Danner Pronghorn 800g seem nice and mostly have favorable reviews but hoping to hear from some guys on here on what has worked for them. These will be strictly woods hunting boots with little hiking as it's typically less than a mile from truck to ladder stand with a portion of that being through farmland.
