What's ya'll's opinion of this 10/22 setup?

I know very little about the 10/22 aftermarket, so this may be common. However, I've never seen it before.

A friend that recently passed away left his guns in my care. While cleaning this Ruger, I noticed the scope rail had 2 additional screws that tapped into the barrel. I know the factory V Block bbl mount is questionable.
How well does this setup work for accuracy and bbl securement/stability?

Very Dirty AR

I hand load 224 Valkyrie. Was using 75 grain eldm, now 88 grain.
26.4 grains of CFE223
I shoot with a supressor. I have an adjusting gas block. I’ve tried light weight and standard weight bolt carriers.

My suppressor, chamber, and upper are FILTHY after 100 rounds. Seriously, dirtier than my M4/M16 EVER were in the army.
Happens with the 75 grain and 88.
Happens with CCI BR4 primers and Federal gold medal match.

If I clean my rifle, go to the range, my first 15-20 spent cases aren’t bad. By the time I get to 60-70 shots, my cases look black coming out.

Is there a cleaner powder?
What are my options?
Any ideas?

SOLD Accuracy International "AT" in 6mm GT

7R301211 - Max Effective.png

I put this rifle together right after I moved to Missouri in 2019, and then only ended up shooting 3-4 of matches with it. This rifle absolutely hammers with the 27" Spartan Rifles 6GT barrel.

This was built as a match rifle, and not a safe queen. But I do always try my best to take good care of my gear. The only real noticeable wear is on the rear of the chassis ARCA (near the magwell) and one chink in the skins underneath the bolt knob/handle.

Since moving to Missouri, I just haven't shot as much as I used to when living out West. I miss wide open spaces and the matches the land affords us out in Wyoming and Utah. I just don't shoot enough to keep this thing. That, and I want a new motorcycle...

LaRue MTB 2S vs Geissele SD-C

Scoured the threads and I’m between these two. I want 2 stage good for overall use that will last. I like the tactical and duty options - I’m not competition shooting but I’m on the market for something good for CQB and long range if needed.

Most posts say MTB-2S is best bang for buck but if 171 is not prob would you still say the LaRue over the Geisele?

Right now AR15 discounts has the Larue for 90 and Geisele is 171

Bergara B14R barrel swap question

Interesting question here,
I initially ordered a steel left handed B14R barreled action. Dealer told me that Bergara had changed the SKUs and there for I was sent a carbon barreled action instead.
Highly accurate, capable of .2s and even .1s with Eley Tenex and Norma Match.
My question is… I knew someone who was rebarreling their B14R and I was able to obtain their factory steel barrel.
I swapped them out and the accuracy with the steel barrel was horrific. Most loads were .8s up to 1.5s, actually struggling to stay under an inch.
The scrolling/writing on the barrel is upside obviously due to being in a left handed receiver, but here in lies my question….

Would the fact that this is a left handed receiver have any bearing on possible headspace with a factory bergara barrel? I know this steel barrel shot exceedingly well previously. Just trying to figure why it did not do so with this receiver.

THANKS !!

Oh Shucks! Failed my DEI Interview...

Had an interview at a community college for instructor. Things were rolling right along, and even the LGTBQ+ question I handled with grace so I think. I replied with whatever group a person aligns their identity doesn't matter to me so as long as they respect others beliefs & opinions and behave like a decent human. That seemed to get the interviewers approval based upon her body language. Then the DEI question popped up and I called the practice racism in disguise and an exclusion policy. To say we need this many of this "person of color" or this sex/gender for the job is excluding potential candidates highly qualified for a position, but lack the target demographic for the position. I concluded that even Martin Luther King Jr. would disapprove of the DEI philosophy & disgusting practice.

I mean, I didn't want to waste my time and wanted the job, but there are things I just cannot abide.

Spartan Precision Rifles & Manners Composite Stocks

Hi All,

I wanted to take a moment to let everyone know the extent to which both Marc at Spartan and Jim at Manners went above and beyond to serve a customer.

I recently put together a custom 7SAUM 20” Proof CF, LPA Fuzion Ti Medium (also great experience on the phone and with the product), Manners LRH Lone Peak Medium Inlet, Hawkins Hunter DBM, TT Diamond Pro Curve, SiCo Scythe Ti.

I had Marc chamber my Barrel based on the LPA spec and a Dummy round I sent with the 175 EH Seated where I wanted it. I received my barrel back from Spartan and my LRH (swamp camo 14” LOP) shortly after. I took all my components to a local shop to have the pillars installed and skim bedding……. Short story long it was a disaster, there was bedding compound in the receiver and the barreled action was misaligned in the stock. I was devastated and disgusted as this was my no compromises custom hunting rifle build.

Anyway I communicated with Marc and Jim about what happened these company’s went above and beyond to fix a mistake they did not make. Marc handled all the logistics, Jim put the stock back in his fixture and removed all the bedding / returned it to like new spec, shipped it back to Marc who pillar and skim bedded it perfectly. Cost to me $0…… these men and these companies are outliers and have my business for life. Pictures of my rifle and targets to follow shortly.

Thank you Marc and Jim!! You guys are exceptional.

Rifle Scopes Zeiss LRP S3 6-36x56 MRAD FFP or Bushnell XRS3 6-36X56 G4 reticle for PRS?

FNG here, so bear with me. Does anyone have real world experience with one, the other or preferably both? These will go on a 6GT PRS gun and a .223 AI PRS trainer, backup, rarely varmint rifle. FWIW, I currently run a ZEISS LRP S3 4-25x56 in MOA for PRS and Bushnell Match Pro 6-24x50 for base class NRL22. l like both just fine, but I do want to switch from MOA to MRAD for PRS. For the sake of simplicity, please don't bother mentioning any other scopes in this thread. Thanks in advance for your inputs. Pictures for attention.

Navy Mk12 RECCE with AEM3 anyone have one?

Had anyone built a Navy mk12 RECCE with the shorter AEM3? I’m about to build another rifle, and I have the KAC rail, and I think a Badger gas manifold on the way (haven’t gotten shipping confirmation) but I already have a Mod0, and still currently have a ModH that’s going to my Son in Law, so I’m debating on another 18” in mod1 form, or doing something different and trying a 15.1 with the shorter AEM3 and a custom profile medium weight barrel under the handguard to try and keep the rifle handy.

Appreciate the feedback and pics if you have them.

Chris
