But at least you can spell it. I'm sorry that your steaks are so gross you have to mask the flavor..

Now ill not deny that mackerel, scad, cigar minnows, hardtails, etc are fantastic bait, they certainly are. But, obviously, you have never eaten my mackerel cakes. I'll make fish cakes out of dang near any bait fish type fish. Jack crevalle isn't deserving of his maligned table reputation either. Ladyfish are also fine table fare.
There are very few fish that aren't good eating, there are lots of shitty cooks though.
Any fking idiot can batter and fry grouper and make it edible.
Next time I have a bad day fishing for kings and Spanish, ill invite you over for some ladyfish croquettes. You'll never be the wiser you weren't eating flounder.

Ahh, Atlantic, that explains it.
You guys have Sheepshead....but you've never tasted Pacific Sheepshead, it's night and day better.
West has sea bass (calico, sand, kelp, white, black) you guys have Grouper.
Even the red snapper are different.
West has Halibut which get huge, you have flounder and sole which are tiny.....and don't taste as good.
No one in the west eats mackerel.....no one.

I boated a bunch of mackerel while fishing for albacore a couple years ago. Tried to fillet them to eat at home and the meat was so disgusting looking and mushy they went in the garden.

Our sheepshead are delicious.
Our Spanish and king mackerel are delicious.
If we are lucky in late winter, early spring, we get Atlantic Bonita in the GoM. They are referred to here as northern mackerel. They are delicious.
Amatuers....the trick with mackerel is grill the bejeezus out of it to cook the oil off. Then eat with olive oil and lemon. But why bother when 'Cuda blows them out of the water. Why yes I'm in socal.

Sweet relish and fry sauce on a cheese hotdog. If no fry sauce I will do ketchup. Never mustard (not a fan of it).
Regular mustard is for bitches.
It has to be the extra, the black label is the mild version.
Only if it is wrapped in a flour tortilla...like a taco should be.

The absolute best hotdog is a hot link on white bread with yellow mustard. We used to get them at the local gas station and they were the bomb. (Allsups for you other texicans).
