.22 creedmoor fad or just starting

I've been shooting 90gr berger vld in my 24" 7tw 22 creed. Original load that shot best was 43.1gr 4831sc@ 3220. It sped up and I had to back down to 42.4 to get down to 3225 again. It sped up again to 3350, downloaded to 40.2gr to sit at 3225fps. No pressure signs on brass at 3350 but I would have a few clickers on bolt opening and 3225fps was crazy accurate and fast enough. I'm at 175rds on the barrel so I hope it's settled in and will maintain that speed till it starts slowing down.
That's the same combo I'm shooting. IIRC I'm around 41gr. First barrel started tearing jackets off around 600 rounds and couldn't get it to stop

Good data point. I was hoping to maybe see 800-1k rds but that might be super optimistic. My 2nd 22creed is a pva solus barreled action and I went with an 8tw, 75eldm@3450. My opinion on 22 creed is that the speed/fast tw(7+)/ heavy bullets is a very small operating window. I was blowing up 95smk and some were landing sideways at 3050-3200. In my head, if I'm gonna run a sub 3000fps, I'd just as soon do it in a 22br/dasher or 22gt. The 8tw has been very mild mannered and so far haven't saw a need to retune load. I will say the 75eldm are wicked on beanfield doe kill tags.

I also pushed it to 1365yds the other day. Wind was mild, about 1-1.4mils for wind and 12.5mils drop. Shooter was showing it was mid 1000fps and in the red at that distance. All bullets landed predictably with any deviation being right or left from missed wind call. Apparently the 75eldm handle going transonic well

Oh don't get me wrong. There's been a few who do push the 22cm at insane speeds. I think I've seen on one occasion 3500 to 3700fps (it was a long time and I can't recall exaxtly) with one of the heavier bullets. But I'm mostly seeing lower speeds from most others lol. Just look a few posts above for the 88s at 3000fps example. That's about 22BRA territory.

A lot are loading it slower and to me, I just don't see it viable that way. That's all. The more I think about it, the more I want that 22bra or dasher lol.
If you are referring to my post I loaded and fired the first 100 rounds through my barrel/brass fairly low. To get things settled in. I generally do that and my kids and I shoot pdogs and steel with it before I bother working up faster charge. 3200+ with an 85.5 wasnt hard to achieve and I'm leaving velocity on the table.

Hornady has the 100gr ELD-VT that is listed at 3200 fps out of a 24" barrel.
I use 100gr NBT from my 260s. 3150 from a 20” barrel is easy. I’m between 3450 and 3500 from my 28” 260, I need to chronograph it again as I never wrote down the velocity. The load really smacks a deer. All the latest buzzwords of tissue damage and wound channels apply.

I’m loading some at the moment for a couple of my 6.5 CMs. I still have over 400 100gr Amax on the shelf that I was using for reduced plinkers. I should load some full house loads and let one rip for doe season.
