Would you get into 6.5 Grendel in 2024?

I’ve been shooting a 12.5” Grendel for 6 years now as a lightweight hunting rifle. I wanted to see what an 18” would do so I threw this one together with some parts I had laying around.

Everything Geissele minus JP barrel and bolt. Shot with factory Barnes 110. Group is rounds 11-15 through the gun. The OCL infinity with vented cap is great on this rifle, quiet and kept the gun clean.

Can you clarify the ammo? Barnes doesn't list 110 6.5G factory ammo.

Do you know which barrel length Barnes used for their data/development? The data on their site says 2590fps. I assume they used a 24" barrel like Nosler. You data looks about 200fps slow which would make sense for a new 18" barrel and natural variation.

I haven’t looked. But I’m assuming it was a 22-24”. I’ll be happy if the barrel sped up and picked up 100-150fps and got me to 2400
