none of your business
I've been using 6mm caliber 115 DTACS in my 6x47L for 4 years and have had great luck with them. Shot them from 3080 fps down to 2900 fps with no problems.

4-5 months ago I bought 1000 DTACS. In the last 3 months I transitioned from the old lot of DTACS to the recent 1000 DTACS. Since then I've been having a problem with the bullets behaving like they are about ready to blow up mid air about thirty yards out from the muzzle making a puff of white smoke. Most do fine and some don't make it to the target or hit waaaaay off.

In an attempt to continue to use the DTACS I slowed them down from 3000 fps to 2925 fps hoping the slower velocity would solve the smoking bullets problem. I found out today the attempt was unsuccessful.

I suppose there could be a problem with the barrel. So I'll try some 115 Bergers to see if they are smoking too.

What I want to ask is if anybody has also had problems with recent lot's of 115 DTACS?

Thanks.

Wow, that would be some really bad news. DTACS are all I run in my 243 Win. I'm down to about 400 in my old stash and was getting ready to buy some more. Keep us updated. Did you call David Tubbs about this??

I loaded up 15 cartridges with 115 grain Bergers to see if there were any problems with them.

I shot at 600Y and got 4" of vertical, and firing as fast as I could too heat the barrel up. No problems that I could tell.

Called up SSS to explain the situation. Tubb is supposed to email me.

Ask him if they are ever gonna get any hbn pointed DTAC 115 projectiles available for sale again when ya talk to him, im all ears for that response

Of course I haven't received an email back from SSS or Tubb. I need to call again.

Loaded up some more 115 Bergers, shot 20 of them and no problems. This weekend there's a night match on Saturday and the regular match the next day, about 100 rounds that I'll be using the Bergers. I'll know for sure if there's a barrel problem by the end of the weekend.

Well, David is getting ready or maybe he's there already, for a place called Camp Perry.

My only problem has been finding them! I have a few left but fortunately (not!) I shot my 243 barrel out so I've been shooting other calibers. I was hoping to get a couple grand more before I started shooting the 6mm again but he has been out all year.

Well, the Bergers worked like magic. When checking my zero this weekend I shot a tidy .3" five shot group and ended up winning the match on Sunday. At this point I'm leaning towards the problem being a bad batch of DTACS.

Hey guys, the 115 Bergers were smoking today too, just not affected as much as the DTACS were, only a few errant bullets.

So the problem is the barrel after all. 3200 rounds through it, now it's done. Funny thing is that I shot a sub half moa group checking zero and somehow won the match today.

Next match I'm going to use my 20x47L barrel and see how it does.
