The manual says every 1000 rounds, but I read a lot about the can reaching it's best suppression potential after around 500 rounds. So how often are you guys actually cleaning this thing?

Take it apart and scrape the clam shells after each use.
I'll also give the threads a quick brush with a brass brush.
When build up starts getting in the way of reassembly, bead blast.

Out of curiosity, have you or anyone else here tried the "dip"?
It's a solution made of one part vinegar and one part hydrogen peroxide.
Supposedly it's very effective, but also very toxic after it eats up the lead deposits.

The dip will strip the finish off of anything you put in it. It won't hurt the metal from what I have seen but it will discolor the finished parts. An Ultrasonic cleaner will yield the same result.
