    .
So i just picked up a surplus DRS Armor X7 windows tablet (running windows 7), hoping to use it for a fieldable Ballistics calc, as well as using it for maps and notes and the such....

im just wondering if anyone knows of any good, no nonsense/ professional, ballistics calculator apps?

ive got a few pretty good excel sheet calculators, however on the tiny screen itll be a pain in the ass to read.

ive tried searching and couldnt find much....mostly a lot of dead links.

    can anyone help me out?

Realizing this is almost exactly what you did not ask for, I publish ballisticXLR and ballisticPRS which are Excel spreadsheets for advanced ballistics based on the Pejsa model meant to be used in printed form mostly. Since you have Windows available just add Excel and you're rockin'. Support is 100% free as is the download. Since you've got a screen size issue I can hook you up with a custom tab specifically for use on something of that size. No charge of course.

For details checkout Meccastreisand channel on youtube and hit my home page at http://ballisticxlr.com

That will run on Windows 7 - ColdBore Desktop is the only "professional" option.

Granted, you could run a Windows Mobile 6.x emulator inside of Windows 7 to run others, but SD-Card security may or may not work.

i actually stumbled across your software a while ago and forgot to save it, thank you for reminding me. ive spent the past few days fiddling with it and it is actually one of the most comprehensive and best put together excel workseets ive come across.

my machine should come in this week, and im sure ill be in touch

    thanks again!

from what ive read, SD card readers are fully usable....as are the integrated SIM card slots and GPS, which will be incredibly helpful

but thanks for the recommendation for Coldbore, looks to be a solid piece of software and is pretty affordable too.

Coldbore is amazing. It is much, much more than a solver. It has a huge number of features. I have tried a bunch and the depth of information available from Coldbore is in a class by itself. I run it on a Mac via a windows emulator with absolutely no issues.
