Famed Florida highway shut by huge marina fire

A big marina fire in the Florida Keys early Monday shut down the iconic Overseas Highway in Marathon, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office says.

The blaze began around 2:30 a.m., deputies say.

"Road closed both directions as firefighters attempt to get fire under control," the sheriff's office tweeted. I like it down there. Nice reefs and diving.

I think the second photo was from South Beach, not Marathon. Marathon is a place people go to be laid back, South Beach is where the ones who need to strut go.

You are exactly right !!! The mermaid is South Beach. The fire pic is Marathon. I like that stretch. Peaceful, beautiful but very exposed to weather and tide A laid back type of life.
