Florida SRO resigns instead of being fired. He failed to react.

To all you manly "men" on this thread volunteering my wife (a teacher) to protect your loved ones at school heres a suggestion: Why don't YOU, VOLUNTEER to be a school crossing guard and then YOU can stop the threat before it happens!
Let the excuses begin!
Get the paper work ready...
Hell, I'll supply my own gun/guns.
BTW, wouldn't she be protecting herself as well?

Hey....were one of you guys at the White House?
Too expensive to arm teachers.
No...it's not what they want. They want to do away with people owning guns....any guns.

"we need to do something to protect the children!"

.....until they see the bill........

bunch of fucking hypocrites....if they actually cared about "the children".....theyd protect them like they protect themselves......with guards and guns.

maybe just take all the guards out of D.C. and put them into our public schools.....if our leaders actually cared about the children, protecting the kids over themselves should be a no brainer.....and it wouldnt cost a dime

I don't see where FSG with his "Manly Men" has been back so let's kick him in the nuts and hope he and his ilk learned a lesson.
I wonder if he is not some kind of Leftie Libtard sent here to fuck with us and see the response. I would bet he didn't like what he saw and knew to get out of the kitchen where the pans and fires are hot.
Veer and others let him know of his mistake. Good job guys. After all this is a forum of shooters.
I do believe that with proper vetting, training and the right mindset that there are many teachers, janitors, lunchroom staff, bus barn employees etc. even some students at places of higher learning at many schools that could make a difference in the right direction and this "Gun free zone" is nothing but an invitation for disaster.
Granted, it is not for everyone and those who aren't capable should not be armed but there are a few in most every school who have what it takes to get the job done and we need to use those resources as best we can, not disarm them.
I think FSG's wife would probably be best left with a sign that says"NO SHOOTING HERE" and let her wave that around and do something with that and see how that works out for her and her students if she think like he does.
However, I don't know how she feels about it and she may feel different than FSG but I doubt it.
If she did feel differently than FSG and did want to protect her students I would give her a good gun and help her to get the training she needed. If she were in my area I would do it myself and supply guns and ammo.
There are quite a few rural schools here in Eastern Colorado that this has been implemented and nobody knows who has a gun but do know they are present. LE response time to these schools with the manpower they have and the distances involved could be rather long so somebody had to do something and that was their answer. At least they have a chance.
In short, Don't come out in Eastern Colorado and try a school shooting as someone there will at least try to put one through your eye and most probably get it done. They might not get it done but it won't be any kind of Butter Ball shoot and lead will be in the air.
These armed schools were brought on by the school boards and concerned parents and that is how we roll out here in a lot of places. FM

in no particular order.

1) my dept head: marine and all around bad ass.
2) HS Chem teacher: Vietnam vet...all around bad ass
3) College Chem teacher: also a Vietnam vet...and it wouldn't surprise me if he actually did carry a gun daily.
4) HS English teacher: not certain but i recall him being former MIL....dude was straight up lumberjack.

I can only speak from my experience. I was active in my daughter's school life, I knew all of her teachers and was involved in events at her school so I had a pretty idea about who her teachers were, without exception they were Betty Crocker women and effeminate men. My daughter is now 22yrs so that experience is recent. I've got a feeling many are relating their experiences in school long ago and assuming the situation is the same today.

One idea I would propose if I was a decision maker would be to create a Federal program through which veterans could earn retirement points by teaching in public schools.

The solution isn't as simple as arming teachers, If we are going to rely on teachers to defend our children, we need to change the hiring requirements for those teachers.

Oh boy, you just stepped on a mother fucking land mine. First my wife is a teacher. The local Sheriff does a 28 hour active shooter training for school employees only (trust me I tried). Involves many aspects of which include shooting 300 rounds on the sheriff's private range.

Here is the deal. There was a video shown of the Florida shooting that everyone pitched a mother fucking fit about. It was in a class room and the shooter was right outside the door. All the students where under their desks like it was some damn cold war nuke drill. What in the Fuck??? If that door comes open it is "fish in a barrel time"

I do NOT expect my wife nor any teacher to go running down the halls Ala'Rambo style. But when that door gets kicked in I expect my wife and any other teacher to fight back. AKA shoot back.

Ask yourself if your kid was in that classroom would you want someone, ANYONE to have a gun.

I swear to god , my wife wants to kick your ass just for saying they are incapable or undeserving of protecting themselves or YOUR children.

You are lucky to live in an area with a Sheriff who sees's the value in that kind of thing. The last thing I want to do is have any woman who knows how to handle a firearm pissed at me, please let her know it was my mistake to make such a generalized statement. I wish the schools in my area had more teachers like your wife in them. As I mentioned in a previous post, the teachers in my daughter's school were comprised of Betty Crocker women and effeminate men.

1)i graduated HS in 2007......hardly the Reagan era.

2) we dont even have to "arm" teachers...we just need to do away with "gun free zones"....allowing people who already carry to continue to do so....those people already work in the school system......no additional resources are needed.

that same teacher who carries a gun at the movies isnt all of a sudden more dangerous because he steps foot inside a school.

My late wife made Betty Crocker look like a short order cook at Waffle House. She was a fantastic home maker, teacher, mother, and wife. She had an infectious smile, and a calm demeanor. Nothing ever rattled her.

Besides that she trained with me regularly, hunted deer, but squirrel was her favorite. She was looking forward to my retirement so we could spend more time shooting matches.
She competed with me in 1000yd BR, IHMSA, NRA Silhouette, and at her death was practicing 3 gun with me, and had plans to start shooting Designated Marksman matches.

She had much to say about the subject of allowing teachers such as herself, to carry while working as a teacher. She felt personally responsible for her students, and had the desire and skill to protect them. She was a public servant, who took her duty to your children very seriously.

She worked with some liberal gun haters, but she never judged them. She said it was their right to refuse to protect themselves and their students. She believed it was her right to not be a victim, nor allow her students, nor her co-workers to be a victim.

I'm sure your wife helped many students have successful lives. Please accept my condolences.

I think wholesale arming of teachers is a stupid idea. But, I also think that gun free zones are stupid. Don't arm those that don't want to be armed. But, those teachers that take it upon themselves to seek out a license to carry, that train with their firearm, and take the responsibility to carry- don't disarm them while on school grounds. Not every teacher should be trusted with a gun. But, some should...

I don't think any of us are advocating anything different than what you just said.

This-here "Gun Free Zone" shit needs to be repealed due to failure just the same as "Prohibition" was.

It's about time the brains started doing the thinking again.

Are you saying we shouldn't let teenagers set policy and decide which enumerated rights we should chuck in the dustbin?

But!!! Muh Feelz!

This whole episode is like a perfect storm. More cards are falling everyday.
From the Feds to the Local LE's.
And they want our endorsement.
I know this is a single incident and there are many brave and dedicated LE's out there, but we as gun owners are being singled out as the bad guys. Why.
The Kids and the Teachers did a better job in saving their friends and students then the adults who are the trained responders.
I'm very worried about the future of the USA.

Its not a single event, every event its the same story, cops wait outside until the power rangers show up then they go inside with the chalk, every single goddamn time. why do we have so many cops and LE? Its a bad investment, a very bad investment.

I am beginning to wonder if this is another false flag, ala vegas and fast and furious

So the FBI refuses to go follow up when given all the details about a very specific very credible threat from a specific perfectly identified individual, who they had a full legal name, photos & general idea of where they were.

Then both the SRO and 4 other Law Enforcement officers decide to play cowards and let the killer go on his rampage and then wait till he had time to calmly leave and go grab a burger at the local McDonalds before rushing into the school and pointing their guns at the terrified survivors...

And people wonder why many of us prefer to take care of protecting ourselves & our own without help from these cowardly "Heroes" who seem to think that just because they put on a uniform for a super well paid job they are suddenly worthy of accolades.

The entire thing stinks to the high heavens.

I still don't know how the FBI is responsible for this, other than failing to hand tip over to township or country popo. I see this as a local issue. I see the pharma that every one of these shooters were on as a FDA national issue. If you are taking psych drugs you need to be moved to a different type of school.

Starting to sound like they all wanted this to happen.
well we already know the DEMS have no problem killing people (*cough*Hillary*cough*).......and that they love to exploit children for their own personal gains....makes sense that theyd skip the middle man and just resort to shooting up schools.

since the FBI is acting as the dems Brownshirts....it wouldnt surprise me one bit if they were directed to let some tips "fall through the cracks".......

i wonder how many local PD are on the Soros pay roll in, FL

^ lol. It would be easier just to put the non medicated kids in a different school

Everyone is on legal drugs these days. Do the quick fix to poor parenting.

Has a psychiatrist ever said "nope your good you don't need drugs". F no. Everyone gets something.

Totally different here. There was no restraining order or protective order in place. The officers violated their oath. no one can argue that.

Police rarely prevent tragedy, they react to it and can stop a situation from getting worse, but generally if the police ever get involved something has already happened. The argument in this case was stupid. there are no property rights because you have a TRO. But it does show that criminals never follow the law, so yeah we should ban guns because thatll be different. the criminals will definitely comply.

Why he did not respond I don't know, It's all very easy to have big Ideas after the fact, To be able to act under those conditions takes a certain type of person, someone who has never been faced with combat or been LE would not be the ideal choice, as for this guys back ground I don't know,

Probably went down like this......

Concerned citizen....Hi I would like to report a person I believe to be a danger to...............(tells FBI Agent all the dirt on this POS)
FBI Agent....Ok well thanks for calling we will look into it.
FBI...Coworker what was that about?
FBI Agent....Ah nothing important now lets get back to seeing if we can find dirt on Trump and if he colluded with the Russians!
