My late wife made Betty Crocker look like a short order cook at Waffle House. She was a fantastic home maker, teacher, mother, and wife. She had an infectious smile, and a calm demeanor. Nothing ever rattled her.
Besides that she trained with me regularly, hunted deer, but squirrel was her favorite. She was looking forward to my retirement so we could spend more time shooting matches.
She competed with me in 1000yd BR, IHMSA, NRA Silhouette, and at her death was practicing 3 gun with me, and had plans to start shooting Designated Marksman matches.
She had much to say about the subject of allowing teachers such as herself, to carry while working as a teacher. She felt personally responsible for her students, and had the desire and skill to protect them. She was a public servant, who took her duty to your children very seriously.
She worked with some liberal gun haters, but she never judged them. She said it was their right to refuse to protect themselves and their students. She believed it was her right to not be a victim, nor allow her students, nor her co-workers to be a victim.
