Like the title of this post says, this is just a dog and pony show.
Republicans have the majority and Presidential approval to confirm Kavanaugh in. I don't see what else the Dems have to slow down the confirmation process.
This hearing is being used as photo ops on both sides to further divide the people. Kavanaugh and Ford are just pawns in that game.
I foresee several endings here. Ford's GoFundMe will be paid out to Kavanaugh after a defamation lawsuit or Kavanaugh will be impeached from the Supreme Court after an FBI investigation. Or this will all blow over and the people will forget/won't care/ won't do anything about it after 6 months.

We will never know if her accusations are true or not. The fact is that after 30 years, there’s just no evidence and there is a lot of doubt.

Bullshit. We know they’re false. She named four witnesses. Her, Dr. Ford, said that these people were there and can corroborate her story.
All four said that there never even was a party/gathering much less an assault. Do you understand that? Her own witnesses contradict her. Ford is making it up. Could she believe it? Anything is possible, but I think you’re a gullible fool if you don’t think this was a coordinated effort, and she’s part of it, just like the other discredible nutballs who’ve made even more wild allegations and thrown as much mud as possible. The guy has been thru numerous FBI backround checks for appointments prior to this and nothing . In the face of a known backround investigation Feinstein sat on the letter ie with held evidence . Numerous Obama administration appointees and elected Democrats openly act on , support and call for Resisting the Legally elected President of the United States . Even Obama has done this . Elected Democrats have called for or supported ;

Two hours, probably the worst of his life until yesterday, in her office and she never asked any questions about the claims, never tried to corroborate anything...........wouldn't you ask some minor details "Do you know Blasey-Ford?"
Mention that to a fence sitter and ask them to let that settle in.

As to my last point about environmental protections: I am trying to find a matter of fact list of the deregulations that have occurred but the lists I am finding are mostly from liberal slanted sites that have opinions I do not care about. But there are a few concerning items that allow for increasing limits of toxic elements being poured into the air and water supplies.
@Mooncake I can shit on Dems all day too but ya'll are covering that base pretty well. I just want to make everyone aware that our representatives aren't really representing us anymore on both sides.

I can tell you personally about the Clean Waters Act that was just repealed. It was regulation, not legislation, straight from the EPA without any vote or representation whatsoever. It made every mud puddle on every (including my) farm suddenly under Federal jurisdiction and gave them the authority to arbitrarily come and shut down anything they wanted for no reason and with essentially no recourse. It did NOTHING to protect the environment. It simply gave the EPA complete control over almost any private property. It was a straight-up, not-even-disguised power grab to "solve" a problem that didn't exist.
I don't think he will get in and the Republican leadership knows this and that is why a vote has not occurred. There are rats and traitors on both sides.
