The Ckye-Pod

Wow, just wow, what a great design and top drawer machining. Mine is siting on the bench waiting for the new LMT m-loc upper to arrive. I can't stop playing with the Ckye Pod and I am already designing a kydex holster for it.

Pictures and range report will be forthcoming.....

Picked one up earlier this week. The range of adjustments is amazing, way more cant than any other bipod I've seen. And I didn't realize what I was missing with a nice smooth pan, would have been nice to have on the 500 yd movers I shot a couple of weekends ago.

Is it possible for me as a European to get my hands on these in some way?

Not sure what the export restrictions count for when it comes to bipods and stuff.

Because we (PRD) sell other items that cannot be exported, we do not do international shipping. However the manufacturer can ship them to you. check out 406bullets.com

Both are great. I've been using the standard legs all season (because that was my only option) until just now. For PRS specifically where we can see narrow platforms, the short legs are a little nicer to keep the stance tighter. If you do mostly prone shooting or field matches, I'd go with the standard legs to get more stability and the extra height. Best answer.... get both! haha

Has anyone tried the atlas leg extensions with this bipod?

I saw a comment saying atlas feet will work but don't know if that means the leg extensions will as well.

Any leg extensions that fit in the atlas foot will work on the Ckye Pod. I've put my carbon fiber PASS legs on it and it works as intended. There will just be some play at that joint like using them with the atlas.

Yup Phil ran the Ckye pod for the 1st time that match. He put it on the day before and proceeded to win the match! IT's easy to use and IMHO is a 3 point advantage over everything else out there

I guess that video answered my question as well in what leg length to purchase. If you run it right it doesn’t matter..

Exactly... The only time the Standard legs can mess with a guy is on a narrow platform. If you run into that, you have 2 options... rest the bipod on the grip tape or click the legs in so it's narrower. It will also be taller so I recommend practicing it to find what works best for you.

I've not seen or handled one of these up close. Can any users of the ckye bipod comment on the 'base' level stability, as it might compare to the elite-iron or similar cradle/higher leg apex-type bipods? The functionality and ease of use of the ckye unit looks fantastic but it looks like(?) the apex point of the legs would notionally be below the bottom of the stock fore-end, hence the question.

No problems with either of mine. Feels fantastic placed outboard as far as it will attach.

You can't really compare the Cyke to a big-ass apex bipod in my opinion. Those are in a different class of setup. That being said, to me if feels equally as stable.

While I am in here... Threw my Cyke pod on the bottom rail to try it out and ehh, not too bad but definitely a tiny bit of play between the outer rail bevels. Not surprising. I tried my other Cyke - same thing. I could deal with it but it would drive me crazy over time.

Since the Ckye isn't adjustable as far as clamping goes the answer was a Picatinny to Arca-Swiss conversion for the Ckye I had laying around along with a RRS Picatinny-to-Arca-Swiss adapter (NATO-DVTL) that I had in a drawer also.

Like everything else in the world attached via Arca-Swiss, not a thousandth of play in any direction now. Excellent.

Appreciate the tag! The last day and a half have actually been spent with Ckye up here at MDT HQ going over the Cke Pod manufacturing and assembly :) I cannot comment yet on whether or not there will be an ADM compatible mount available through MDT, however, there are a lot of things Ckye has prototyped and not released yet.

Step 1: get the Ckye Pods into full production
Step 2: Look at some of the proposed changes/accessories
Step 3: Implement them as we go :)

Thanks all for the support and patience whilst we complete this transition :D

Wasn't necessarily suggesting you guys offer the mount, rather you offer a sort of "no clamp" version like B&T does with the atlas then the end user can purchase the clamp of their choosing.

Once you play with a clamp that does both you'll never want to go back to having one that does one or the other.

I get that and there is a design for that out there, just need to prioritize right :)

I have the RRS HC-PRO clamp on my current Harris and I love the function, but with the Ckye Pod and ACC, there is no need for the picatinny interface anymore for me ;)

Call me a purist, still like having a lugged interface for the bipod at the front. Few shots here and there on ACC no biggie, wouldn't trust it on larger calibers or lots of shooting, having said that I also have a some Picatinny rails only on other rifles so the inter operability of using both.

I'll keep an eye peeled!

The Ckye pod is also available in a picatinny variant if you want?

I know, I want to be able to use it (and honestly at 5 bills who wouldn't?) on whatever rifle I pull out of the stable. Adding RRS dovetails to the rifles I can, others still have pic rails, that's what's nice about the RRS clamp design, does both.

That's where things are heading, IMO, options and inter operability. If I can't use a RRS clamp on it, honestly it's a deal breaker for me. I'm a fan of Atlas products, I'm interested in new options but only if they afford me the same flexibility.

Beyond different guns, my match rifle has pic rail up front and RRS dovetail towards the magwell. One or the other doesn't work for me, need both.

It's not Uber complicated a request, just make a version with an interface that works with clamps from ADM and RRS.

Or don't. Could always wait like 8yrs to put out a reticle with a tree like Nightforce. Knowwuddamean?
