PRS Talk 2019 PRS Series Update

Having shot at KM, I’m excited for PRS 2019 and believe it will be a great and fun year of shooting in the PRS under Shannon’s lead.

As both a former PRS Comp. Shooter as well as PRS Match Director who left the organization due to some of the issues flagged above and on many other threads (especially BS entitlement syndrome by some) I feel like I can speak from a knowledgable stand point.

There has been many issues that have caused shooters, RO's, Match Directors and Range Owners to say no more in the past several years and caused them to leave the PRS.

If anyones leadership can turn the tides for the PRS I believe it is Shannon so lets let him have a breath to get the new organization and 2019 plan in place (READ this as Support him in his efforts).

He is a solid guy, solid comp. shooter and extremely solid Match Director. Those traits combined with his proven military leadership is exactly what the PRS needs.

I know from personal interactions he will listen to Match Directors, RO's and shooters equally which will be critical to turning the ship around.

For those competitors that do not feel they are Gaming/Jersey issues I challenge you to RO a couple of matches before commenting further.

For those of you who have not shot one of the matches get out and shoot! Then after a few matches RO (Without RO's there are no matches).

No matter what the comp style IDPA, PRS, Steel Challenge, 22 Long range , etc.. you need to THANK the RO's , Match Directors and Ranges it is a lot of work and without all of them us addicts have no where to compete

I agree with the RO statement. When I was part of the Sin City Precision team, our teammates could not shoot our own 2-Day matches. In order to make them happen, we had to RO ourselves. I can say that we (PRS shooters) have some people that need to get checked at times. However, that is not everyone in the sport. Just a few people that cause problem and become “that guy/gal” that gives the rest of us a bad name.

GAS GUN DIVISION along side the bolt guns. No special rules. No change in COF. Just it’s own division where gas gun guys run the same COF as everyone else.
Or make the TACTICAL DIVISION open to all calibers. I want to run my 5k$ AR10 in a division.

You can already shoot a gas gun in open and tactical. Same COF, same rules, etc. (Unless they've changed something in the 2019 rulebook)

Are you saying you want a separate division for gas guns within the standard fare PRS matches?

And the whole point of the Tactical Division is to allow 223s and 308s to compete against each other instead of having to compete against the 6.5s, 6s, and whatever crop of wildcats are in vogue at the moment. If you open Tac up to any caliber, what's the point of having an Open division?

My understanding was that the point of the separate gas gun series was to add a faster paced type of match for guys who didn't want to just run their gasser along side bolt guns, similar to what 3GN has done with their "long range" matches. I've never head of anyone limiting a match to bolt guns only.

Why do you want to have a Gas Gun Division to shoot against yourself? Want that trophy?
