Being able to cook is a condition of independence. Every man should be independent. Further, being able to cook anywhere and with shitty implements is important, too. I like machetes because they make decent grills, among other attributes.
Being able to find and acquire stuff to cook, obviously, is fuckin important.
Fixing things is like man 101. Plumbing, gas, electricity, roofing, drywall, masonry, carpentry, and hvac should be ordinary bullshit everyman should know.
