I came across an IG video of a guy doing a no look mag dump. Apparently he does this often and for no reason other than to try to create something worth watching. IMO this is a ridic thing to do and is asking for trouble. Dude has like 64000 followers of which 5000 are surely M&P AR owners who will go out back or to the range and try this; something I don’t want to be anywhere near.

I commented that this may not be a good idea and he says this is no different than a Hollywood stunt that others should not copy. He said I sound like an anti-gun person and he is just trying to let everyone know that guns are a fun hobby like snowboarding..... Because you know how being careless with a snow board can accidentally kill your neighbor or some unsuspecting fud at the range. He went into a long explanation as to how this is good for the gun community. I replied that being careless with guns is absolutely bad for the gun community. Go check it out and read the comments. Reminds me of the “a ND is no big deal at a match” crowd.

He is definately a twat....unfortunately....it's a bit Fuddish to make a big deal about it.
Ehh...If not wanting to get shot by some idiot copying this guy makes me a fudd then I guess I am guilty as charged.

I dont see the big deal other than it's wannabe operator douchy poser thing to do. But then again he's doing for Instagram likes soooo...

It's not like he's creating some kind of viral challenge and it Looks like he's all alone in a secluded location.

I've seen more dangerous things watching so called instructors videos.

Pretty much sums up most “shooter” social media pages. The only thing worse than this type of dude is the guy who was a boot admin fuck but got out, grew a beard, got tats, put on flannel, and never looks at explosions as he films himself shooting targets off screen. IG is full of wannabe operators, shitbag service members who fabricate war stories for attention, wannabe contractors, dudes who were shitbag contractors, and all around douches.

Fuck these people at the range. I’m with ya man. Guess I’m a fudd too.

And this guy is a perfect example of why I hate public ranges.... that and the fact they are always 500 yards too short!

Yup. When I roll up to the range, I cringe when I see other cars in the parking lot. I’m cool with rolling the dice with death, but the last thing I want to kill me is some incompetent No StEp On SnEk threeper retard at the range who NDs and puts a round into me because his kitchen built AR is literally falling apart while doing mag dumps.

Looks like he is only about an hour from me. Guess I need to be on the lookout. May need to ask him why the cool eye shades? Not like he uses his eyes anyways. Worse things happen out here. I have had guys drive by my line. We stop, chat, let them know where we are shooting, and stay cool until they are well into the safe zone. Hours later then come back and park right by our targets then get out an walk around. So I guess you have Utah stupid, and perma-stupid. Dude in the video just looks like normal Utah stupid to me.

Personally, if he wants to make a dick of himself and can do it safely then whatever. Unless he is down at North Springs (does not look like it) he is not at a functioning public range as they won't tolerate it. It looks like normal back-country to me.

This guy probably drops 1k rounds in a single trip, cool for him. Typical type that doesn't have any awareness of others at the range, not checking the line before trying to go down to see if he got 2 bullets in a target at 25 yards, just going live without giving anybody a heads up, and generally turns the overall experience into a net negative. Yeah, you look amazing staring away from your target while ricocheting rounds all over the range!

Just a violation the basic firearms safety rules. ?

Is he "controlling" the firearm? Yes?

Is he able to clearly identify his target, backstop, and area surrounding it without looking? Nope.

Should the safety be off, or finger on trigger, or shooting without following the above rule? Nope.

This is the firearm equivalent of the Tide Pod Challenge.... another retarded action by immature individuals thanks to social media and the addiction to dopamine and endorphins after "likes".

We're fucked. I've already accepted it.
